My issue with the M5
« on: October 21, 2009, 11:38:09 AM »
I bought the M5 the other day since I ran out of Fusion blades.  I have to say that I like the price and the overall performance of the razor.  I only use it on my face though, as I continue to use the HeadBlade on my head.

My issue with the M5 is the trimming blade.  I find it much more difficult to use than the Fusion as you have to angle the blade differently.  I typically use the trimming blade to get around the ears, especially right on top of the ear and above.  This morning I sliced my ear right where it connects with the scalp.  It may be a case of getting used to it, but so far I'm not a big fan of the trimming blade.

Tyler,

I bought a handle for the sensor & use it to trim around the ears.  Since the blade is so compact, I've had no issues cutting myself.  Especially the area you mentioned.

Or, it could be that my big ears dwarf the razor   :*))

That's been my experience, but Koz is right, it's the same as how you to get to Carnegie Hall, practice, practice, practice.    >:D
One sort of odd experience, my stubble is shorter in the morning than it used to be.  So far I've skipped a day on the weekend a couple of times and it isn't unbearable.   O0

I got some cuts too.. Learned I had to take it slow.  You can't rush with this one.  It is not as forgiving as the fusion.

Same problem for me in the ear problem.  I also experience less stubble in the morning.  To me, that is a big plus.  I hate stubble!!!

i luv the M5.  as most of u know... i "retired" my fusion (manual) 2 "back-up" razor.  however, last week i got my 1st mishap.  i was rushing and i got a one inch deep cut on the very top of my dome.  it is healing but i got a big ole band-aid on the noggin'. >:(

as much as i luv the M5... i definitely gotta "slow" down.  i can't wait until it heals 100%.

+1 on the patience. I've sliced the top of the side and my finger by "throwing" the razor around and not being careful. Put that under lesson learned and I am taking it slower now.
