Long story, so grab a beer and settle into your easy chair....
When we bought our Acura 3.0CL (1997 model, still runs like a champ, 175k miles), we were at the dealership near our home. At the time, we had a membership in a national club associated with our timeshare. The club had pre-negotiated prices over dealer invoice for cars, Acura having a price tag of +$1,500. When I got ahold of the dealer, the person on the phone said "Yes, we have one in black, $750 over invoice" ... Huh?

I then said "Wow, $750 over invoice, that's a great price $750 over invoice, let's schedule an appointment". I gave her a couple of chances to check the price.
When The Lovely Mrs. Schro and I went to the dealer, they quickly noticed their error and told me of it. I told them, you quoted me $750 and I'm willing to pay $750. Well, a lot of back & forth, and
3 hours later, I left with the car I wanted, at a discount of $750.....figured my rate of $250 an hour was worth our time.
