WHEN was the last time U manually changed the channels on your tv?

hello fellow chrome domes:  the other night i was desperately searching 4 my tv remote control which was missing in action.   it was driving me crazy.     finally... i succumbed 2 walking 2 the tv and changing the channel myself.   of course... after i "inconveniently" walked 3 miles (j/k)... i was able 2 find the remote control.

i didn't realize how much i really luv that remote control.   i think it's a "guy" thing.   so... how 'bout U?  when was the last time U "manually" changed your channels on your tv?  i know i'm not the only one.  what's your story?

I've never done it.  Had to look at the cable box to see if it was even possible.  It is, but it would take a while to go from Channel 2 to 296

I havent in a long time.  I am like you though..I lost the remote a few nights back.  Well I DIDNT LOOSE It...the kids did.  I searched the whole house for it.  I was looking under every chair, every bed ( while everyone was trying to sleep and I was waking them up)...even got the dogs out of their kennel thinking that they were dead if htey picked it up and were chewing the hell  out of it in their kennel..but no remote. 
I checked outside on the front porch because some little girl ( i wont mention names) likes to carry it off to unknown places.  One time we found the remote in one of her little carry bags that was haning on her bed post. 
So anyways, I searched and searched, after about 40 minutes.. and couldnt find it....si I didnt turn the tv on  I said SCREW IT and went to bed

Everyday, threw my remote across my room a year ago and havent gotten a replacement, call me lazy call or stuck in 1957 fashioned but theres only 3 or four networks I watch, History, Comedy Cental, USA and Foxnews and any network that shows Law and order and Cops  

.........Literally just 5 minutes after posting this reply My Dad just walked in with a new comcast cable box for me with a new remote, talk about luck.

I end up manually changing the channel on my converter box about once every couple weeks or so, usually when I'm standing right next to it and want to put the box back to my "home" channel.

The problem is that the TiVo doesn't allow you to change the channels manually.

Haven't done that in years....    Even when operating the  TV tuner in my PC I  use a remote, from 8 inches away.

 Not too often..But if i have too its no big deal changing  between channels  2 - 11

but you can get channel 22 in on VHF if you use the tuner...
