So what was it guys? Which one kept you from peeking under your bed at night as a kid?

Even though I loved vampires as a kid I was terrified that werewolves could be real.......

Lost boys and Vampires

I cannot answer this poll.  When I was a kid my favorite horror thing would either have been Jason Voorhees or Freddy Kruger.  Mummies didn't scare me but I thought the real ones in museums were disgusting.

Today, however, I think vampires are badass.  I'm a fan of the Whedon-rules for vampires.

My absolute favorite was Lon Chaney Jr. as the original werewolf. I watched that on Shock Theater in the late 50s and early 60s.

Haven't seen a lot of the contemporary vampire stories that are out there but I really like Interview with the Vampire (Tom Cruise) and the BBC show (on BBC America) Being Human, about a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost, all living together.

I have two favorite "monster" movies.  The most current was American Werewolf in Longdon.  The special effect were awesome.
And of course, I remember as a child seeing the original "The Thing".  Theater management had to come pull me out from under the seats.  After that I would lay in bed at night and could hear the music from the film.  Alot of sleeping under the covers for a long time.

There were witches, humpbacks of Notre Dame, and the like---not to be scared though.  I don't remember it as a "scare" thing, more of a joke type event--and our parents didn't have to follow us around to make sure we were safe--so no scare at all, just fun, free and fun.  My kids grew up in a totally different environment, everything very planned.  Of course, Halloween here in New Orleans, although fun, isn't the main costume event, that's Mardi Gras.

ive always had a bit of a facination with vampires. I think ive dressed up as one for halloween more times than anything else. Interview with a Vampire and The Lost Boys are awesome, but right now Mrs. Mvmnt and I are wrapped up in True Blood, and cant wait for december when the new season starts! haha.

I enjoyed and still enjoy watching the old horror classics (have most on tape) and even had all the old Aurora monster models   They could realy scare you without all the blood and gore that are associated with todays films, like Saw.   But it was the Wolfman that was a real favorite of mine.
