hands on or hands-free...

hello fellow chrome domes:  lately... i've been thinking 'bout purchasing a bluetooth 4 my cell phone.  i've always used the good ole hand-to-ear method. 

anyways... who else uses the old method of hand-to-ear when talking on the cell phone?  if U have a blue-tooth... what type do U have & do U like it?  so... is it the ole hand-to-ear method or the new method of blue-tooth.  what's your story?

I don't talk on the phone much, especially in the car.  If I do, it's a short conversation like "are you picking up the kids or am I?"  I have tried a couple cheaper bluetooth headsets, and they have all been crap.  So much static they aren't usable.  I'm sure more expensive ones are better though.  Since I use my phone very little in the car, I haven't thought about buying another one.  If you buy one, check quit a few reviews online first.

I had a pretty good bluetooth when i had cars that were standard transmission.  I hate the dang things, give me an earache. And people that leave those stupid things in their ears all the time bug the crap outta me.  But if you talk alot in the car I think you should have one. I rarely use my phone to talk in the car anymore since im retired.

I don't drive a car and I'm not a phonoholic so I don't use a headset.

I have a bluetooth and quit using it because it gave me a terrible earache.

I got a gen-yew-wine Motorola off of ebay for about 10 bucks new. I don't use it often but if I'm going to be driving in an area where there is an ordinance against driving while engaged in a pointless conversation enabled by wireless electronics it comes in handy.

I have a tiny Motorola BT headset and love it.  My former one (fake Motorola bought on ebay) hurt my ear and had lots of static but this one is very comfortable and works great.   I use my phone a lot while driving and in CT it's against the law to drive with the phone in your hand.
