My intro

Hello everyone. I may be new here, but this almost seems like a home, because I've been reading this forum as a guest for maybe 8 months or more - and pretty much weekly if not sometimes daily.
My story is that MPB hit me first time twelve years ago. I noticed before everyone else that my hairline was receding. I asked my girlfriend about it and she said she doubted it was receding. None of my friends commented it, polite as they were... So I gave it little thought. A couple of years passed and I knew for sure my hair was thinning, I had noticeable what I believe are called widow's peaks, but many people said it made me look cool. Indeed I agreed
But then one of my friends bluntly said "You are going to be bald". I replied that yes I notice my hair is receding. He said he meant the top of the head! A little shock but I remembered Ted Danson's words: see it as intellectual mooning

Was I denying or accepting things I can't say. Maybe a bit of both... I decided to keep my hear short. So called Ceasar cut or something. I didn't really liked the idea of me bald, but thinning was not a big issue. I thought it was a normal male thing. I didn't allow it to made me feel bad, it didn't affect my luck with women either, so... And also I should mention my barber refused to buzzcut it down. Maybe he knew he'd lose a client after it.
Finally after many years I decided to clip it really short. Gradually. So here we are. I'm not sly yet, half sly perhaps. But I'm on my way to slyness. Since #2 and #1 buzzcut I've noticed I've felt much better. No gel styling, no fuss, no worrying if it's gonna rain!
Glad to be here!

Welcome Iconic. Looks like you have the Jason Statham look going on. Since you like the very short buzz, I'm sure that you will absolutely love totally slick when you're ready to take that step. Glad to have you on board.

Welcome to SBGs! You are close...sooner or later you will give SLY a try! When you do, I'm sure you won't go back...and even if you do, getting back to a #1 doesn't take long.

Thanks guys! Yes, I'm almost there. Talking about Statham, he has (of course) been a huge inspiration, and I've been a fan since Lock, Stock etc... We've seen bald actors, but I think he was the first clearly balding action movie star I saw. It made a big difference for me to see somebody like him on a screen, a balding, totally cool and confident guy. Willis was never that, he shaved for Pulp Fiction and since then he was a tough bald guy, with or without the rug.
But yes, sooner or later I'm gonna be fully sly.

Welcome, a lot of us traveled that road before, and it's been said, very truthfully, going bald is the sh_ts, being bald is fantastic. You are fifteen minutes from the real deal, and as the good Professor says, you, like me and so many others, are going to wonder why, oh why, did I wait so long. That's been proven and can be testified to by all the guys here. You're really going to like it. See you on the Sly Side Soon.

Welcome Iconic, good to have you join us at SBG's.
Sounds like you took a route similar to mine. But you got there and that's what matters.
I am a big fan of Statham myself, and he was a big influence when I started buzzing down a few years ago.
You're headed in the right direction, and you've come to the right place for encouragement and support.
Keep up the positive attitude and you'll be smooth before you know it.
Let us know how it goes.
