Yes I do.  It is worth the time and the one time cost to buy the stuff.  I would suggest a feather razor because it is a replaceable blade.  I CAN NOT get this close of a shave using a normal blade.  Plus it becomes a "man" thing to do.  It is a special treat for not only your self but for your significant other too.  Just remember slow is fast.  I would start with a DE or double edge or saftey razor with Crystal blades (red pack) first then work into a straight razor.

I'd really like to be able to shave with a straight razor but the thought of doing it terrifies me.

I normally shave with a DE, but I whip out my DOVO straight when I have some extra time.

Sam, how do you like those disposable blades? I might use my straight more often if I didn't have to strop for 5 min before even thinking about shaving

Gentlemen

I have to say it took me about 2 months to get the fear of the razor out of me but once you get that straight razor effect on your beard, you can never go back to disposables; i have not used it on my head however

As much as I'd wanna try a safety razor and the whole associated works, I can't bring myself to drop 200 bucks on it(as most of the good quality kits cost).

I want to try a safety razor on my face, but not my head.  I'm going to a flea market tomorrow and hoping to be able to pick up an antique DE razor for cheap.  I've checked a few of the face shaving forums Then I'll start off with a cheap brush.  But as Jews32 said, you can spend upward of $200 pretty easily on the entire kit.

Well what I use is not technically a straight razor.
I use a 1958 Eversharp Hydramatic Injector razor that the blades is like a small one in a somewhat modern looking razor

Does a better job than a 5 blade fusion on my face.

I beg to differ, I have been using a DE for a few months now and I spent no where
near 200 bucks.  Here is my set up.

I have added different blades since this picture.  Over all, I have maybe spent
30 bucks on everything. O0
