Needing employment-using my Sly network

One of the first things a job seeker should do is work with his network, and I should have come here sooner, lots of sly guys here with experience so I thought I'd come to you.

I got laid off back in June, and have been searching for a job in my field since. I have worked 18 years in the logistics and transportation field. I have been searching local and nationwide since, not one call for an interview.

I have eight years in private fleet management, and nine years in logistics. My last two years in logistics have been with companies contracted to General Motors. GM business (or lack of) has cost me my last two jobs.

I have lived in Warren OH for four years, beautiful area but economically a wasteland. We expect to relocate somewhere else. I commuted 130 miles a day for 1.5 years because I didn't want to get stuck here if I got laid off. Well guess what? I'm stuck! This is the 4th time in 18 years without a job, last three times were 5 months each time. I am probably one of the most experienced job seekers around, and it never gets easier.

If you want to move to Arkansas, Walmart at their headquarters in Bentonville has a huge logistics operation, as well as JB Hunt trucking (also in Northwest Arkansas).

My wife is an Operations Planner for Estes Express Lines (estes-express.com) and the headquarters is here in Richmond Va. They have a few terminals in Ohio (http://tinyurl.com/omc28b) and others all over the US. Hope this helps!

Estes; I used to see them all the time during my long commute. Not much anymore, but I see they have a terminal in W. Middlesex PA, just 20 minute drive from my house.

JB Hunt has my resume, might bug them again.
