I recently confirmed a memory I had from about 15 years ago in  New Orleans.  I confirmed the story as true from a retired newspaper reporter and a criminal defense lawyer, first guy balding a should be sly, second guy is sly.  A senior citizen, a lady, was returning from her job to her home in mid city New Orleans when two punks threatened her w/ a knife.  She acted as though she was opening her purse to withdraw her money, but surprised these guys w/ a small hand pistol, plugged one, but the gun, being old, jammed before she got of the second shot.  Of course the second punk was off to the races.  On questioning the lady, the police found that she had been part of the French resistance, of course the gun was old--she'd used it on Nazis.  These punks picked the wrong old lady.  No question of her self defense, when the police coroner picked up the body--yup she shot he dead through the heart--the knife was under the body.
Gotta pick victims carefully, but some people don't know that.

I remember a story one of my old bosses told me about how two males tried to rob a diner/cafe somewhere in AZ ( I think it was Prescott ) that was full of retired police officers, military serviceman and just citizens that had concealed carry permits who at the time where packing steel. The robbers didnt know this so they continued to yell verbal commands at all these "patrons" to hand over there personal belongings/money......before the robbers could finish there sentences about 10 old timers lit these scumbags up, all rounds fired made contact and there where no stray rounds that left that diner.
