New Guy In Town
« on: August 27, 2009, 11:17:46 PM »
Evening!

I've been considering sly for quite some time now.  As you can see in my photo, I'm buzzed way below a #1.   I discussed this with my wife at one time, but she wasn't crazy about it since she was bald by default (thanx to chemo 8 years ago) and her concern for my career.  However, thank God, sweetie's cancer-free (and has her hair); and I've read that a bald head could help one's career.

I'm planning to do this either this weekend or during Labor Day weekend so it'll give me and my associates time to adjust.

Any helpful hints would be appreciated!  Many thanx!

Glad you joined the web's best forum.

Very good news that your wife is cancer-free.

Best wishes for the deed - when you shave your head. Will be a very good look for you, and what a feeling :D!!!!

Welcome to the Forum DC!

Hints?? Gets some good shaving products...... many of us use HeadSlick or Bald Guyz Shave Gel.... and use a HGOOD razor that you are comfortable with. Go slow until you get used to the new shave.......

Good Luck!

Welcome--you're really going to like it, we promise! 8)

About your wife"
Evening!

 her concern for my career.

Please assure her that Sly Guys are in almost every imaginable job and profession--this Forum has a HUGE variety of guys as relates to their jobs--they are all pretty much sly.
Personally, I can say that not only do I see Sly guys all over my office building, 50 stories of offices, but I see them in all the restaurants of the City of New Orleans, from the fabled classics to the neighborhood poorboy and gumbo shops.  If you travel at all in your job, it looks like a sly convention at almost every airport, and I can't remember when I was the only sly guy on a flight! [We'd better be quiet about that or they'll start a surcharge for that too! ;D]  I suggest you take one business day and count the number of Sly Guys you see--you will be amazed.  But really if it feels this good, it's not really a surprise is it? 8) O0

I am curious as to what your profession is that your wife would be concerned that a shaved head would be detrimental?

Aloha DC from Maui... you're going to really like this forum and your just less than a #1 away from becoming an official SLY guiy O0. I think it will be good for your career because of your improved self-esteem and confidence- some of which will be sub-conscious for a while rising to the conscious level. Good luck!

I am curious as to what your profession is that your wife would be concerned that a shaved head would be detrimental?

Actually, I'm a medical underwriter who's looking to move up in the company to higher (and more lucrative levels).  However, as it has been said (and I believe it), being shaved would do more good in the end.

Update!  Just purchased a pack of Mach 3 and a tube of Bald Guyz last night.  My "debut" is set for Labor Day weekend (unless I decide to do this earlier).  ;)

You are in for it now, shave quick, there's one guy here who's in a related field and if your're not sporting a shiney dome asap, he's going to really be on your case.  Seriously, you will really like it, I can promise you the feeling of being totally free of what's left will be a moment in your life you will never forget.  It's really neat, it feels great, and it will be a major liberating point in your life.  Smooth, Slick, Sly--there's nothing like it.Get that blade and "git er done!"

You've got all the tools on hand now.  No way can you hang in there until Labor Day.  When I was thinking about shaving my head, I got a free Mach III in the mail one day.  It seemed like an omen.  I decided to put it away until I was ready to do the deed.   I was only able to hold out for a few days.  Every time I went into the bathroom, there was the Mach III in my medicine cabinet, calling out to me ....

Ya got the itch.  The sooner you scratch it, the happier and more comfortable you'll be.   ;)

I thought about shaving my head during Labor Day weekend, but I decided to wait...NO MORE!   I just shaved it and boy does it look cool!   O0

And it feels good too!

Pic to follow.
