When PigPen mentioned the Muppets lunchbox on here it got me to thinking about the Swedish Chef ....that character always cracked me up!

Yea, well after the Muppet Show was canceled he fumbled around a bit.  He entered the music industry and helped Roxette in the late 80s and the Cardassians in the mid 90s, but after failing to make it big I'm afraid that he started experimenting with some special ingredients and ended up spending a few years in a Federal penitentiary after robbing a convenience store with Dana Plato.  This was actually a great thing for him because he was starting to be influenced by Bert.  If you don't know what happened to Bert, then you need to read up http://www.bertisevil.tv/index2.htm.

Oh I'd love to live in your fantasy land where felt characters live happy lives of gumdrops and unicorns, but in the real world Muppets contact sexually transmitted mold fungi, are instrumental in crime, and die horrible, horrible deaths.

Even when I was a little kid I hated that guy.  He was supposed to be Big Bird's good friend but he made Big Bird out to look like a complete ass in front of his other friends because everyone thought he was imaginary since the ol' Snuff never appeared in front of anyone else.  I always hated those kind of characters in things, and I hated Mr. Ed for the same reason... even though I loved the show.  Wasn't Kazoo in the Flintstones the same kind of thing?  Wouldn't he only appear in front of Fred and Barney?  Shame he didn't include the viewing public in the list of people he wouldn't appear in front of because he sucked, sucked in a Scrappy Doo kind of way.

And what about Beaker's lab partner, the bald, bespectacled, lab-coated scientist Dr. Bunsen Honeydew!

In response to the ancient quest of alchemy to turn lead into gold, Dr. Honeydew created a device that turned gold into cottage cheese. Some of the other inventions that were created and tested in the Muppet Labs included: edible paper clips, a gorilla detector, a banana sharpener, a robot politician and an electric nose warmer and a hair-growing tonic. 

Beaker had the wildest hair! It looked like it caught on fire or something. A hair net should have been an appropriate must in the muppet lab...
either that or Dr. Bunsen Honeydew should have given Beaker a headshave.

Overall it was one of those shows that everyone recognized, if not loved...how many shows can say that?
