Everyone comes here. Seems like when the weather is nice, everyone spends their time outdoors. Winter comes, we are all stuck inside, and of course, what better way to spend your time...Visiting SBG. Just missing seeing everyone in here. Hope everyone is doing well and you have done alot of summer activities.
School is starting up here this coming Monday. I know I am ready for the little rugrats to get back to school.
What have you all done during your summer so far this year and are their any other plans for travels or projects you are all working on?
For me and my family, the beginning of summer we worked on getting our pool opened for the season. We have enjoyed the pool alot. Here in town we went 3 years without a city pool. They built a new one with the water slides and spray jets. It finally opened last week after much delays. The kids have been enjoying it as well.
Took the family to Florida for an extended vacation. Met up with Ice4Life on the 4th of July. Met briefly with Nomad. Went to the SLYCON...will never forget that time. It was awesome. Its always good to meet up with friends.
I really did not have any projects for this summer other than painting the living room. I sorta took the summer off.
The next 8 months I will be focusing on spear heading a mission team to Haiti this coming April 2010. So my free time will be used up alot this winter. All for a good cause though.
So how has your summer went??

Sounds like an pretty good summer Timmay.
Well, to start my summer off, I went with my wife (fiancee then) and her family to Chicago. Just me and her, the girls (3) and her parents. Was a great time! Then we got back and the following week bought our house. Spent a couple weeks painting and remodeling. Moved in (her stuff, as mine is slowly coming from my old house) and finished the kitchen. Then after much thought, we changed our wedding plans and got married July 24. After that, soccer started up for 4 of the 5 kids and that's where we are now. School here starts Monday, like yours, and I got 2 transferring her from another school and one that is starting kindergarten. But, all five kids are stair stepped. 3rd, 2nd, 1st and kindergarten. So I will have one graduating every year starting with 2019 to 2022. Damn that makes me feel old (at only 32).
Don't have any plans for travels, except we are going to Huber Winery for their fall festival Oct 12. They have a petting zoo, hay rides, WINE TASTING, and all kinds of festival things there.
So, that is my take on the last summer. Also, I would like to add, I found this site, a tremendous amount of friends and brothers and have gathered a lot of information. Can't wait for more to come!

Nice topic Tim..... and I agree that the Forum is much more active in the winter months.
This has been a good Summer for us:
1) Since I didn't coach baseball for the first time in six years I actually did a LOT of outside projects at the house. Put a hot tub in, painted my huge back deck, put in a new flower garden out front for the Mrs..
2) We went to Canada for a week on vacation with some friends. It was probably the best vacation I've had since my honeymoon 14 years ago.
3) We hosted a surprise 90th Birthday party for my very spunky Aunt. She was totally surprised and it was the highlight of our Family time this Summer.
4) We drove 2400 miles round trip to SlyBaldCon in Louisiana.....and loved every minute of it. I met Timmay, Paulie, Warhawk,Jer, and SaintC. Five great guys that I hope to have long friendships with. That trip was the most fun I've had in a long time.
5) I celebrated two years of Slyness back in early July.
6) My 49th birthday back in early July saw the arrival of my new HD Road King.
7) Also in July I got a new tattoo on my entire lower left arm.
This has been a great Summer for our Family. We count our blessings everyday.
Peace........

My summer has been a blast when I look back on it.
To start we went to California, did some wine tasting, went to a honky tonk (everyone thought I was 23-24). We went through yellowstone, grand tetons, Salt Lake City, capitol reef, grand canyon, saw Mexico, saw L.A. and Vegas, lots of fun on that trip.
I got my oldest brother to shave his head.
Been doing tons of work around grandmothers house like redoing the deck, steps, painting, tons and tons of yardwork.
I got a trio of Saxony ducks then had one get killed by a dog sized coon (in the city) s got another to replace her. I am going to show them at the fair in Setember, I have a good chance at winning.
I turned 20
I got 2 fish tanks, they are both 29 gallons. In one I have firemouths from Central America. In the other I have 4 Calvus (Latin for bald), a kuhli loach, snails, and soon to have shrimp and self-cloning crayfish from Germany.
Then for the fall nothing but the fair and 8 birthdays in September.

Worked my ass off, and that hasn't let up.
Had my only vacation cut short because of work.
Have had a ton of projects dumped on my desk at work.
Kids go back to school on Monday, so the house will be more quiet so I can concentrate more on work.
Yeah, been a great fuckin summer.

Well, not too much of a Summer. We refi'd the house and decided to do some long needed rennovations--two weeks--three weeks max. Well we're well into the second month w/ no end in sight. During the work thirty feet of bad sill from the 1867 structure was found to have been rotted out [things just don't last anymore!

] and the a/c for downstairs was questionable. Talking w/ the new s-in-l I was put wise to the new equipment requirements that will w/in the year require the replacement not only of the compressor outside but also the exchange unit inside. Decision--do it now. So this project is now over budget and into the budget for the vacation we were hoping to take after the work was completed. This is not my summer to buy a lottery ticket although I would be most deserving of the award!

Such is life--hopefully there is a hurricane someplace--it's how I earn money--just not at home. I need a pretty good one to earn back the money this summer has eaten up--but I do have a much cheaper mortgage payment. Take the good where you can find it I guess. Oh, and this wasn't the Summer my wife decided Sly was cool--she still hates it.

July has been consumed with my son being hospitalized with a ruptured appendix. It just seemed like every thing got put on hold.
Hoping for a short end of summer vacation over Labor Day.... If I am lucky.

This summer has gone by way too fast - as they always do up here in the north.
Was planning to take a vacation in early September but yesterday I received a job offer and will be starting 9/1. It's a fantastic opportunity so I'm not going to complain about missing my vacation this year.
