The M5 is probably the best looking 4 door on the road, but I am a "coupe" kind of guy. 4 door cars scare me...one minute you are driving a 4 door, and the next minute you have a wife, kids and dog!
The M6 is basically an M5 with less doors and more sportiness.

Convertibles are really the only way to travel. I've got a Mini Cooper, and I'd estimate that the top's down more than 75% of the miles. Great views, wind on the skin--can't beat it.

Unfortunately I don't have a BMW convertible, but I am proud of my ultimate convertible. HD V-Rod. And you are right- Sly is the best way to travel.

I know a lot of guys that don't like convertibles because their hair might get messed up, but I LOVE top down motoring, and I've got the hairstyle for it!
And YES...I do prefer German cars.

Love the German engineering!!! Traded my Jeep for a Bimmer last fall... Never looking back!
However, living in the wonderful Midwest, convertibles aren't really worth it since we only have about 3 months out of the year that they can be driven in all their glory... I guess I could always go with a hard-top convertible though??

In the South, I have about 4 months I can comfortably drive top down, but it's worth it! BMW currently gives you three choices on hard top verts but honestly, the rag tops are about as quiet as their coupe counterparts.
Regardless of which model you have, it's a good choice!
Thanks, Baldbear.

We don't have our convertible Mustang any more, but when we did, one of the nicer things about Central Texas is that it's "open top" weather most of the year (wear a hat though!). The same goes for the motorcycle.
There are just those two or three days of winter that we need to worry about...
P.S. Speaking of the weather, we're now at about 50 days of over 100 temps this summer. We'd better have one damn fine winter to make up for this!

P.P.S. Much as I reserve my right to bitch about the heat, I'd never trade it for snow again. I could never move back to the snow belt. Been there, done that!
