Hello everyone

It's nearly 6am and I should go to bed but not without a quick hello and introduction.
Just spent the last few hours reading through the forums. Many stories and experiences here I can relate to. Hopefully I can work up the courage to share some of my experiences and thoughts. Everyone here seems very supportive. Noticed the first signs of hair loss at 18 (i'm now 26) but it has become very apparent the last few years. Sometimes i'm devistated, other times I just try to ignore it (or is that just denial??).
Occasionaly shave my head down to a 2 that sometimes I quite like and other times not so much. I'm just a bit conflicted about the whole thing!
Anyway will have more to say after a sleep!

Hey Jusjus,
I guess if you have read enough posts you will know already that most of us are going to tell you to shave it off and be a much better man for it. Post a pic and let the guys see what's going on up top. Assuming the hairloss is at a signifigant point the only real options are bald or balding. To which the majority on this site prefer to be bald, which in todays society is a perfectly acceptable and might I add a stylish look.

Welcome JusJus -
What worked for me (and many others on the site) was to shave it smooth the night before a vacation when you can get used to it without having to worry about the reaction of others (which is usually no reaction, but it's just some sorta weird issue we all go through). After a week, it will probably be back to a length comparable to a #1. From then on you'll be bitten by the "sly bug" and won't be happy 'til you do it permanently.

Welcome jusjus. The only way to deal with the anxiety and concern is take charge of you life and shave it down. As you read past posts you will see how your confidence soars as you enjoy the freedom from the concern. If you don't like it (which isn't going to happen) you can always grow it back. Any questions or other concerns, just ask away. You will find great support and info here.

Welcome to the Forum JJ! The guys have given some good advice. We always recommend the 30 day trial period and as one of the Borthers said.... try it right before a vacation or long weekend.

Thanks for the replys guys. Reading last night did give me hope. Plenty of stories on here from people in the same boat as me. If they can get over it, so can I right?

Everytime I cut my shave my head i'm tempted to go shorter each time. Just a case of building up some courage. I've been thinking about this 30 day challange...might try it. Perhaps to soften the blow for both myself and others I could do it for charity or somthing. Let all my friends know via facebook what to expect AND raise money for a good cause. Could take a little pressure off me doing it that way. Hmmmm things to think about!
I have alot more to ask, and maybe some things to share so I shall be back in another thread. Might even try to find a pic of me without a hat!
Thanks again.

welcome jusjus.
You owe it to yourself to give shaving a try. You will probably love it and so will the people
you know. As you know, many guys who shave their heads have one regret, which is the "I wish
I had done it earlier" regret. So don't be that guy. Be the one who enjoys being sly for many years.

Welcome to SBG's jusjus, good to have you join us.
I am going to echo brother Paul in saying the best way to deal with it is to take control.
Give it a shot, you'll feel so empowered. Then all of a sudden it hits you; the stress and worry goes away, replaced with a feeling of confidence.
As you can tell, we have plenty of info to share here, and a good bunch o' fella's to banter with.
Enjoy the forum and let us know how it goes.
