Just spent a long time draining the washing machine...
« on: July 29, 2009, 04:26:37 AM »
ERROR 0E or something like that. I did'nt get a chance to drain it last night so had to do it this morning. Nothing like the smell of dirty water to start the day! Just cleared up. One of those experiences you really dont wish to do again... but alas it will happen at somepoint. And because I couldn't get round to doing it last night the washing has backed up but its nothing a few washes can't solve and i'm in all day- doing house work it would seem. Oh mister Calagon *pictures a calgon tablet with a little cape* why could you not save me from this distaster?!  Ahem...

I was wondering if anyone had any washing machine related injuries? I broke a couple ribs a few years back moving one round the side of my house and I got caught against the outside wall of the house and the maching itself due to a friend being very careless with the other end.

cant say that I have, but I do have a story.  Way back when I was living at home , our neighbors across the street had their washing machine out on their back porch.  The porch was not an enclosed porch but rather a wooden deck type with no railings or anything.  While a friend of mine and myself were out front messing around, you could hear the banging of the washing machine as it was doing its thing. Wabbling all over the place and "walking" towards the edge. We both took a guess at how long it would be before it would fall off.  Well within a few minutes...down she went.  The machine fell off the deck which was about two feet off the ground, and it landed on its side.  The lid pops open and clothes, water and soap start pouring out.  The neigbhor lady comes running out screaming with her hands in the air.  We started rolling on the ground laughin our butts off.  It was the most funniest thing  I have ever seen lol.

Just went through it bro!! I spent about 6 hours trying to fix it before we called the repairman!! He spent about an hour with it and had it all fixed!!!! Made me mad as hell espeically since I had spent so long on it and the fact that he charged over 100$ to fix it. Oh well....lesson learned!!

Front enders are easy on water but tend to break down if they aren't perfectly level, and when your transporting them remember to pin the internal weights O0

Talk about hassle. Mines done the same thing again. My sisters bf will fix it but for now my washing has to be done at hers.

You can see how it was lacerated diagonally, I still can't independently move my toe.

I just fixed the motor coupler on the washer tonight and almost put a gash in my dome, but luckily I realize what I was doing right at the last second.

I'm trying to find new pins for the lid on my 1960's Coppertone Maytag.  It works great except you have to lift the lid on and off... Any ideas ... other than the junkyard !

We left our older washer/dryer behind when we sold our house last year, but they weren't working well.   The people that we bought our new house from left their 7-year old washer/dryer behind, so we thought we were in good shape.

About a month ago my wife noticed a small puddle on the floor after using the washer.  It got bigger each time she used it.  Got a repairman to check it out and he said their was a pin hole in the tub and that's not worth fixing.

We ended up getting a new set a few weeks ago, which was an unexpected expense.
