Nothing about the Bald Eagles?
« on: June 29, 2009, 10:20:28 PM »
With all the recent success/attention the US national team is having, I'm surprised I haven't seen any love for Tim Howard on here.  He won the Golden Glove for the Cup and is an awesome keeper and an awesome Sly Guy.

I wasn't able to watch the matches.

Here's a pic of Tim -

Oh I'm well aware. Heck  I didn't even start watching soccer until a few years ago. But even in that short amount of time, just based on what is shown on national networks and the overall media coverage, it is growing. I'm not naive enough to believe it'll ever usurp the other major American sports, but I'm just happy to see our boys doing okay against some of the best nations in the world. Hopefully it carries over next year at the real show.

Don't we have a few British guys on here? I would have figured to have gotten a response since our last few keepers have all been bald guys that play for English clubs.

well for the record i LOOOOOOOOOVE soccer lol. dont even get me started lol. i actually had a post on it a week ago when USA made it to the finals after beating spain.

all i have to say to people that dont like soccer (most americans) is give it a shot. its actually exciting as hell to watch. specially when its our own USA playing.

plus.....the world cup which is every 4 yrs (same as the olympics) is the most watched sporting event in the world. although USA usually get eliminated in the first round (lol) its still fun to watch. i record al the matches on DVD every 4 yrs. i basically turn into a couch potato during the month of the world cup lol. i have a full beard and long hair when its over lol.
