Alright, so we often hear how an electric razor can give you a close shave but with the added advantage of no irritation or cuts. This sounds very appealing to those with sensitive skin like myself.
Some questions that may arise are: (1) Can you get as close a shave as using a razor blade?
(2) Is it really true that your skin will not be irritated?
(3) Your shave routing with the Panasonic
I will answer these questions based solely on my experience. Results may be different with others. After all, we have different heads.
My experience tells me that you can get a very close shave, possibly as smooth as that using a razor blade. The best approximation in general is to say that if a razor blade cuts a certain region 100%, then the electric razor will most likely cut 99%. So there is about a 1% point difference that is not noticeable and cannot be felt that much.
When it comes to irritation, I found that I can get a very close shave without any irritation whatsoever if done carefully. If your skin is irritated when using an electric then the problem may be your shaving cream/gel/oil. If you use shaving oil and then on top of that use a quality shave gel like Bald Guyz Shave Gel then there should be no problem.
If you have sensitive skin, then King of shaves shaving oil is a must. You will do yourself much good using this shaving oil under your shave gel for a shave with a razor blade or an electric.
With a razor blade, I can only shave once every 2 or 3 days at least. There is no way I can shave twice in 36 hours. My skin gets extremely irritated. With the Panasonic wet/dry I can shave EVERY DAY without irritation, that’s how good I found this gem to be.
Since the end of April I have been using the Panasonic for half of my shaves, and the other half I use Mach 3. It feels good to change!
Shave routine with Panasonic: Do the pre-shave. Apply the King of Shaves shave oil and then on top of it add Bald Guyz shave gel. Make sure that before you shave a region of your dome that it’s wet. I go with the grain and then against the grain. Then, I go in other directions. The more directions you shave (bad English I know sorry lol) the closer the shave becomes. Once most of the stubble is done I go over missed areas with Schick Extreme 3 disposal razor. I don’t always do this because I am satisfied with the results of the Panasonic by itself.
Special thanks to SimplyRed for all the tips he gave me. All of them made this experience so great.
