Hey guys-
I lurked for a while now I've taken the plunge. Shaved my head completely for the first time last night. My Wife is on a 2 week vacation (without me) right now. I shaved now so I can get used to it before I hear from her.
Quick questions
- my head feels irritated - I'm assuming this is probably just bad shaving technique on my part - I'll just probably live it for a while - if I'm probably wrong about this let me know
- I want a bit of shine on my head (had short buzz before so skin colour not bad) without shining too much - suggestions?

Welcome to the sly world SQ. Glad to have you aboard. The irritation could be from shaving techniques or sensitive skin. There are several products out there that will help with this. Check out the product reviews section for some great insight on different products. You can also check out the head shaving section for tips on geting a good clean shave. And yes there are products out there that give you a good shine on your head. I use Headblade Glossy Matte for mine and works well for me. Just keep looking around the board and you will get all the help you need to have a smooth comfortable shave and how to enjoy your Slyness.

You failed to tell us what method you use when shaving your head. Did you shave at the sink or in the shower? What kind of lube did you use, any pre-shave method, what kind of razor and what is your post shave method? Give us the details and we will be more than happy to help you along.
It is important that you do the 30 day trial run. Once you complete that, it will determine if you will go with it for the long haul or give up on it. With all the help you will get in here, I am sure you will find you own way that suits you best. Everyone is different , so you will have to keep that in mind. What I do and what the next person does may not work for me.

I am only 5 days into this myself so I don't yet feel to qualified to give advice.
I have offered a few "beginner" opinions though.

Welcome to SBG. And to add some shine to your head, run your head under cold water for a couple of minutes after every shave and apply Bald Guyz moisturizing gel. Works great for me, my head's like a mirror by the time I'm finished.

Day 3 - reactions from others - I got my first head rub from a woman I hardly know - now that was a bonus I was not expecting!! Reactions have ranged from people not recognizing me - to very positive to a few cancer/skinhead comments - I took the advice of another Sly Guy and have stayed really positive with the negative comment folks, so far they have all stopped quickly
how do I like my new look - liking it a lot - I buzzed down for a few weeks before so got used to very little hair on me - now I see photos of myself with hair and have to do a bit of a double take
