Is Sanchez the real deal?
« on: May 12, 2009, 08:42:02 PM »
What' s up fellas?  I am a HUGE Jets fan, and I am curious to hear your thoughts on new QB Mark Sanchez. I didn't really follow him at USC (Longhorns fan here), and I have heard the good and bad about him.  I know he has great presence, but the arm strength concerns me.  Hopefully the Jets O line will have enough to protect him.  Let's hear it......

He's a fairly stationary QB. I think he'll have some success in the NFL and since they play a Pro style offens at USC the transition should be easier for him.

His first season will be a little shaky. Welcome to the NFL rookie.

I hope I am wrong for ALL Jet fans, but Ryan Leaf comes to mind. It just seems to me that when he first decided to turn pro, he was projected as a 2nd or 3rd round draft choice. What changed in 3 months? Did he get BETTER? I think because of a weak QB class, everyone got nervous. Like I said, I hope I'm wrong; he seems like a good kid.

He could be a great QB, but he is on the Jets and besides last year they haven't done well with stationary QBs.  Maybe they learned something from Favre.  Though, I'm a USC fan, so I'm hoping he does well.
