« on: December 04, 2008, 09:20:31 AM »
hello fellow chrome domes:  i started this topic last year & we had  fun discussing this topic.  so here goes... what type of Christmas tree will "B" in your house & what type of Christmas tree did U have as a kid?  i'll start:  we will have an artificial tree at my household this Christmas.  when i was a kid... my family also had artificial trees 4 Christmas.

so... how 'bout U?  what type of Christmas tree do U have?  what type did U have as a kid?  what's your story?

We have a really awesome artificial tree, most people don't even realise that it isn't real! We got it from this really spectacular Christmas shop in Germany, I forget the name and even forget the town...it was a while ago that I went!!

The only thing I miss is the smell of a real tree!!

I'm single now so I'm doing the Charlie Brown style tree with the 1 ornament. It's pathetic but makes me laugh.

Growing up, my Father ALWAYS got a real tree and we all helped decorate it. HO train underneath...  Thanks. That memory just made me smile.

we use artificial...you cant tell that it isnt real as well.  Hey Wil, you can get that evergreen scent stuff that you  can hang on the inside of the tree to give it that fresh pine scent...i know they sell it here at one of our hardware stores...makes it smell like the real deal.

We have an artificial tree in our dining room at the front of the house, and in the living room we still have a real tree.  We had a real tree when i was a kid, and it just wouldnt seem like Christmas without one.  Its the smell of pine i like best, and the mishapen branches, which make it so much more natural, even though its true they do some really realistic artificial trees these days.

I love the pine tree smell: real Christmassy! 8)

Ya know, that's what I'm missing. That Pine smell.

I'm going to stop and see if I can find that smell at K-Mart or somewhere. It would be nice to sit on my couch and go back in time for a bit.

goes and purchases a bottle of pine scent, christmas tree pine car scents on a string, and packs them up in a cardboard box and has them sent over night to powerofcheese.

When I was a kid in the 50's my family always had a real tree. I would go with my Dad and we would walk around the woods until we found a suitable tree and then would either drag it home or drag it to the truck or car. Those were great times I still have in my memory.

After I got married my wife and I would always get a real tree whenever we could. Since my kids are grown and we have sold our home and downsized into an apartment complex we always have artifical now, although we both miss having the joy and smell of a real tree.... :@`

But can a chemically-made smell really live up to the real thing? 8)

EXCELLENT!!!  Thanks Timm!

If the package needs a sig, please send to my office. Oh and please send me tracking info at your earliest convenience.

Probably not but it has to smell better than my current house smell. (doberman puppy, left over pizza and Glade fresh linen).

Real tree here. I love the whole experience of taking the kids to get the tree. And man that REAL pine smell...........

It's worth the extra work to me.
