Observations after 10 days of my new Sly life
« on: October 16, 2008, 12:39:26 PM »
I'll start with the cons first:

1. Velcro head
2. Later in the day, when I realize I missed a few spots on an otherwise smooth head. They bug me until I can do some touch-up.

Thats it for the cons.

The pros:

1. Increased confidence
2. People say I look tough
3. My wife's new nick-name for me is "burly bear"
4. The Sun warming my scalp.
5. Driving down the Interstate at night with all the windows down, and the rushing wind cooling my scalp.
6. Being a member of the Sly Bald Guys forum
7. ...and many, many more.

Just wait until 30 days into it!  Congrats on loving the Sly look.

the pros get better with time, and you begin to not notice the cons

The nickname burly bear is ironic considering that you are less hairy.

The nickname burly bear is ironic considering that you are less hairy.

Did I mention that I've also joined the Hell's Angels and now get in nightly bar fights? Burly's tattooed on the left, Bear on the right...

Another pro: I love how the above stereotype actually fits with my appearance. Its obviously false, but I don't mind if people want to think that I'm that kind of "burly" guy.

Slickjay, you're right on the money. It just gets better each day as you will see.
There will be more and more affirmations.

Listen, Anthony, with 15 plus years in, in sly terms, I consider him a grandfather.
Not many have been shaved for that long, and let's not forget it was no way near as accepted, or fashionable as it has become. If you look at it that way, and in a time frame since being bald has caught on,  it makes sense.

I'm sure Andre knows what I mean.      8)

I take what BOTH of you said as a HUGE compliment!

Thanks for the props!

Stay smooth my bald bros! O0
