Same here....I was worried it wouldn't look good but I wanted to try it anyway. My wife told me "don't you dare" because she thought she wouldn't like it either. One night I decided to just do it and it looked better than the buzz cut I had been wearing. Both wife and 2 kids said they liked it better also...been shaved since.

First was my wifes reaction. Early in our marriage I tried to give myself a haircut and accidentaly went SLY. When I came out of the bedroom..the look on her face was priceless but back then she was not enthusiasic about it. Now she is cool with the look. Of course I was concerned about what co-workers and other people would think. To my suprise the reactions are overwhemingly positive.

I didn't really have any concerns........ As a famous sailor once said, " I yam what I yam".....

I was personally terrified I would cut myself up like no other. Thats why I asked my neighbor to do it the first time who's a fellow shiny head fella. The first time I did it myself though didn't cut me so much as I gave myself more razor bumps then pimples on a 16 year old boys face. After a couple more tries though I had it down. As for other concerns just about it not looking good, but I was already going to the barber once a month for a no guard buzz cut, so it wasn't too drastically different, but the way it felt...ahhhh....that 1/8 of an inch makes a serious difference.

Only concern I had was "what are people thinking about the look?"
Turns out nobody has said anything, and as far as what they're thinking? Who cares!
I think it feels good, looks good, and makes me feel more self-confident. At the end of the day, that's all that matters - right?

Another vote for "Was afraid I'd cut myself" also wasn't looking forward to having to shave everyday.
After discovering the Panasonic Vortex...I don't worry about either.

I was concerned that it wouldn't look good because of my head shape. But as Mikekoz says "I yam what I yam." My wife was NOT HAPPY when I first shaved my head. She tolerates it now. But the reaction from co-workers and friends has been overwhelmingly positive. They say "what were you so worried about?" And I'm often told that I look a lot younger without the hair. For some reason, I just like the Mr. Clean look. I can't wait to get smooth again at the first sign of stubble.

My biggest concerns were that I would cut myself up, and also how it would look.
I also remember having the fleeting thought of having to shave every day, like Nomad said.
Turns out there was nothing to worry about. I love the look and this is me now.
I had always said if I start losing my hair, it was all gonna come off. So the "concerns" turned out to be unfounded.

I was sort of spooked by what others would think. The first week I got some looks but now when I hear that I am blinded by the glaire on your head, it makes me frown.
