OTF, I have to agree with Timm (did really just say that?). Waiting until September will eliminate some great tanning days to mellow out the white scalp you will discover when shaved. The better the tan, the longer it lasts, the less shadow. Go for it now. You won't regret it.

only another 3 weeks now!!! thanks for the support everyone....i'm just positioning myself to get off this fence...but wow now I am 100% sure it's gonna finally happen day before vacation....!!cheers all!!

Is there a thread someone can link where the fence mentality is explained? I mean i understand there is anxiety, but I don't understand how you could want to shave (IE because you don't like how you're MPB is looking) and not just do it right away to look great. Is it social stigma rather than personal identity or something?

Yeah, I'm guessing he wants time to get used to it himself before others see, but the reality is its all in your head. IMO you get used to it more when others are involved.
