Hitting on the bartender at your favorite watering hole...

You guys think this is a good idea? The bartender at one of my favorite local bars is a real cute chick and really nice. She's always extra friendly with me so it kind of made me wonder if she had a thing for me. But I mean bartenders sometimes do that to get good tips. But anyway, I was thinking of trying to hit on her or ask her out sometime, but then I got to thinking, "If she turns me down, would it ruin the whole vibe of coming back to this bar where she works?" It's not the rejection I'm worried about, it's just that I don't want to feel awkward when I come back. What do you guys think?

I dated a bartender or two years ago. remember, they are constantly being hit on. I found out that if you're a regular, just chat them up for a while first. Be patient. Chances are she may even drop a not so subtle hint when the time is right...as long as you don't look like that avatar.
