hello fellow chrome domes: does the ice cream man visit your neighborhood? i love seeing kids' reactions and body language when the ice cream man drives thru the neighborhood. U could see all the neighborhood kids running 2 the house and getting some $$$ 2 get that ice cream treat. it gives me that cheesy grin because it brings me some fond memories as a kid. when i heard that "ICE CREAM MUSIC" booming... my younger brother & i would sprint 2 the house and yell..."MOM....THE ICE CREAM MAN IS COMING!!!" my mom would just smile & give us some $$ for that treat.
so... how 'bout U? does the ice cream man visit your neighborhood? do U enjoy seeing kids' reactions? what R your kids' reactions when they hear the ICE CREAM MUSIC booming? what was your reactions when U were a kid?
what's your story?
WARHAWK
OH BROTHER! LOL....The Icecream man....I miss those days. We still have a truck ( van) that comes around selling icecream in teh summer time. I miss the old truck that had like the carnival music playing..you could hear it for miles it seemed like. Now the van that comes around just has a bell on it that dings....not the same...but the kids today dont know any different, they just know its the ice cream man.
When I was younger, man....this is a trip down memory lane...Mel...you sure did a good one this time. Anyways, we would always be with the neighborhood kids and as soon as somene would hear that music they would holler ICECREAM! We would all high tail it to the house to raid my dads change bowl he always had sitting on top of the fridge. One time me and my brother were fighting on who could get into the house first. We had this back step that went up about 3 steps to get to the door and he got in there before I did and he slammed the door on me and it had this big glass window in it. I just put my hand up to stop the door and my hand goes thru it and i hear the glass break. All of a sudden when I looked up this big piece of pointed glass come down and hits me right on the forehead betwen my eyes. I had a deep gash and had to get stitches. BUT.... I GOT MY ICECREAM FIRST AND being that I was the injured one...I got to choose the most expensive item....and it was the double choc. jumbo sugar cone ice cream. I think back then it was prolly a buck 50.. lol
Those days were great, just wish we could go back to our childhood sometimes and just live the carefree time we had.
Thanks Mel...I enjoyed that trip down memory lane. I scream You scream We all Scream for IceCream!
There's no icecream man here in my town. Maybe that's an opportunity for an entrepreneur. I have thought for several months about buying a hotdog cart. Anybody have any experience with that?
Y'ALL MAKING ME HUNGRY DAMNIT
No ice cream man up here on the mountain!!!
All I'm thinking about is the Van Halen song "Ice Cream Man"
All my flavors are guaranteed to satisfy.
My wife runs the office for a company that does this in about 14 cities. We usually have all the ice cream that we need in our freezer, yet we still have to buy when the truck comes down our street.
