I know this really only applies if the host for this forum supports the hack needed to allow this feature but how about...
dun dun dun........
THE QUICK REPLY.
I glanced over the 3 pages in this section and did not find anything relevant, if I missed it I apologize.
I am on probably, 10-15 different forums, and actively post on about 5-6 of them, Sly now included
, and all of them offer the quick reply. I find this to be especially nice when you log on for a quick post or if you are running a less than desirable internet connection. I realize it's only a matter of one extra step but in the era of things like; remote power locks, voice command cell phones, auto start, auto home light controls, timed sprinklers and even automatic doors at shopping centers...its all about eliminating the extra step.
any thoughts?

This forum has a Quick Reply box, and I'm using it right now. You may have it turned off in your profile.

I must be DUMB but I don't see the difference between a 'quick reply' and a 'normal reply'. I've never seen the point of a quick reply when a normal reply is just as quick.
WHY is a quick reply QUICKER than a normal repky?!!

I must be dumb too because I don't know what a quick reply is - perhaps the Sly master Tyler can enlighten us.

I'm not sure how to setup Quick Reply as a default for everyone - though I'm looking into it. But, in the meantime, if you want to have a quick reply, you can go to
http://www.slybaldguys.com/smf/index.php?action=profile and then go to
Look Layout and Preferences. In that screen you will see a drop down for
Use quick reply on topic display:. Choose either
show, on by default or
show, off by default. If you choose the latter, you have to click the down arrow to show the quick reply feature at the bottom of all the posts.

I'll break it down real quick haha.
When you want to respond to a post, you click "reply"
-this loads a new page where the message box appears.
A Quick reply box, is always located at the bottom of the screen when reading a thread.
-Thus this eliminates having to hit "reply" which, i guess its most important reason, is skips the need to load a new page.
Its pure convenience and thats it. Really no other benefit to it, other than if you run a very slow connection which most these days DONT, but some still do.
