Do I look unprofessional with shaved head and beard?

I start a new job in a week in a corporate work environment and during my interview I had clean cut longer hair style and no beard. I was tired of using hair fibers to cover the thinning around the crown so decided to shave. Do you think I should also shave my mustache and beard before first day of work and let the beard regrow in November? My friend says I look a like thug now after seeing my photo but she has always seen me with hair and no beard.
Photo is taken a few days after slick shaved so there is stubble growth now. I'm not sure how to get this stubble growth look so I'll probably keep shaving.

There is no need to change, that is a professional look, especially if you shave your head again.

Shaved heads are quite acceptable in professional circles. I had shaved head years ago as a professional in large company.

A shaved head with or without beard is perfectly acceptable in pofessional circles these days. Looks good which is more than you can say for the dreaded combover.

I work in a large IT center at General Motors. I feel completely comfortable and professional with my shaved head. I sported a goatee a while back and had no complaints at all. I think you look pretty good! You have nothing to worry about.

A bald head and a well trimmed beard is a very EXECUTIVE look.

Your scalp is attached to your head and face. It's a package deal. If someone wants to hire you for your education/experience/etc., then they have to accept that your bald head comes with the package deal.

if you do shave and keep the beard just make sure to keep that beard neat and trimmed. I find about 1/2 inch was a good length for me. long beards look kind of strange unless they are VERY well groomed.
