Is this real or fake
« on: November 08, 2015, 08:30:25 PM »
Since I'm now BBC and have to shave daily to maintain the smooth state of my head, I found it costs me about 1 hour per day to shave, in the other hand, the price of blades for Gilltette fusion was expensive for me. I tried to find a way cheaper and easier to shave and found on the Internet: http://www.drugstore.com/magic-shave-razorless-cream-shave-bald-head-smooth-head-maintenance-light-fresh-scent/qxp170485

They said the shave will last for 4 days and smoother than razors shave which interest me so much. I search it in amazon and found the price was $4.5, so I wonder if this thing can help me get a closer shave than razors shave or not. Anyone tried this?

I doubt it! (in terms of being smooth for 4 days).

BBC means you have a full head of hair that grows at normal rates (fast). No matter what you shave with, you will feel sandpaper on the 2nd day, stubble on the 3rd and a buzz cut by the 4th day.  Probably not what you are looking for.

As the blades get dull, you'll find that the 'sandpaper' stage shows up sooner and sooner, like maybe a few hours after you shave!

From a distance, all of these shaves will look about the same (unless you have black/very dark hair), thus the company may make this claim.  From the perspective of the owner of the head, and feeling your head, it will not be smooth on the 2nd day with any razor.

I have tried magic shave, and in my experience it does not get as close as a razor blade, but similar to an electric razor.  And some people are sensitive to the chemicals in magic shave so if you try be cautious and do the spot test first.

My suggestion is to continue with the razor shaving.  With practice, you should be able to get the time down to something less than 10 minutes, and the magic shave will have to stay on your head for 10 minutes to work.  As to cost, a tube of magic shave costs about the same or less than two fusion cartridges, and you will get about two to three full headshaves out of a tube, so it is more expensive to use.

Try to find a less expensive razor to use that gives the same results as the fusion.  I use the Persona M5 and the Micro Touch.  I can get two weeks out of a cartridge with daily shaving.  I shave in the shower and can now shave in less than 5 minutes.  It may take you 6 months of daily shaving to get your shaving time down to this, but you should be able to get to less than 20 minutes in 30 to 60 days.  Although my hair is thin on the top, I have a full head of hair to shave, so I am not skipping any areas.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004W2UMDW/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_Pkmqwb4WC5F4P get one of these, it works and extends the life of the cartridge by around 50%

Yeah, I often use one cartridge for about 1 to 2 weeks. I just can go ATG easily when that cartridge was completely new, the second time I use it, I can't go smoothly as the first, and after that I mostly use it to shave with the grain. After 1 day shave with the grain, my hair look like a buzz cut at #0, even though I go ATG, there still shadow on my head.

That Sharpener is fantastic, I think I will save money for a try :D

It's not really a "sharpener" in the true sense, it cleans the blades, removes any build up, but works very well and pays for itself very quickly
