Headblade ATX vs. Sport

I just started to use the ATX for my past two shaves and really like it.  It has provided a nice close, irritation free shave as advertised  .  I bought it mainly because I wanted to try a Headblade real bad and they say that the ATX is the easiest to get used to for a new Headblader.  Also from the videos, the Headblade just seemed like an easy way to shave against the grain.(Jack from Headblade makes it look so easy). 

Being that I felt I was ready to go ATG finally I picked one up.  First couple passes felt kind of odd but then I got the hang of it for the rest of the shave.  The second time that I used it was even better and felt more natural.  Actually got almost totally BBS with it on my second shave.  It has pushed my Gillette Fusion Proglide to second place.

I would try the Headblade Sport but I do not want to use anything that can cut you so easily.  So I think that I will stick with the ATX  .

i have been using the headblade atx since september 2012, and have this week gone back to using the new sport.i have been using the sensor three blades with the sensor adapter on the atx but the shaves are no where near as close as the shaves with the headblade sport using the same combo, the stubble is more noticable around the ears and the sides of the head. i have not had any cuts with the atx, but for me the closeness  of the shave is more important,

My ATX won't get here until Monday, although the waiting has given me a chance to get used to the Sport. After switching from the 3 blade to the 2 blade Atra Plus's, I'm really loving it. Hopefully the ATX isn't too disappointing after waiting over a week to get it.

Just to update, I'm retracting my positive opinion of the ATX I posted earlier in this thread. In the end, I found the shaves as well as the razors and/or adaptors to be too inconsistent. Some days I got great shaves, other days it took me several passes over an area to get it clean, which then would result in irritation. But when I bought a new set of HB4 razors, the quality of the shaves took an even further nosedive. I couldn't get a close shave to save my life, and my scalp felt torn up after many of the shaves.

Now that I've gone back to the Sport, I realize how much closer a shave it provides. In fact, I upgraded to the new Sport with the rubberized finger ring after ditching the ATX, and I swear it is even better than my old Sport. Only downside is that I still require a stick razor to properly clean up the sides of my head. I gave the ATX about a month, but the Sport provides a more consistently clean, close shave over the ATX and is definitely the better razor in my opinion.

Cuzzin try the ATX with whatever blade you use on the HB Sport. That's what I do when I use the ATX. I get good shaves that way.

I love HeadBlade but I'm not a fan of the HB4 blades.

After using the ATX with HB4s and HB6s since Monday, I was ready to toss it in the garbage today and go back to my Sport. Out of curiosity I decided to give it one last chance but pulled the yellow adapter from my Sport and used the 2 blade Atra+ blades that work really well for me. FrankenRazor gets the job done. It's honestly the best shave I've had yet. My ATX no longer has an off road suspension, and looks a bit ghetto, but I'll be keeping it around if it continues to work for me.

Do you guys who use your old adaptors/razors on the ATX use it like a Sport (pushing) or like an ATX (pulling)?

I do. I've been using my ATX so long that I've forgotten how to use the sport. I prefer the HB6 but I find that the HB4 unclogs easier.

Best combo for me so far is the ATX with double blades (sensors, at the moment).  I find the pulling action great for the sides and back, and the center pivot point of the sensor or atra adapters keeps the blade tight to my head.  I would love to try a 4-blade that would fit one of the old adapters, but so far I can't get the hang of the HB4 adapter.
