WHEN was the last time U gave some shaving advice?
« on: May 02, 2012, 07:45:47 PM »
hello fellow chrome domes:

when was the last time U gave some shaving advice?  i'll start:  today i gave some good shaving advice 2 the manager of a specialty shop that sells special wines, cigars, and some shaving supplies.  i was having a nice friendly conversation with the 60something year old manager.  from our conversation... he asked me how can he get rid of razor burn and red bumps on his face after shaving.

of course... i immediately told him after he shaves to perform a cold water rinse, ice cube rub, witch hazel, and apply cortizone 10 lotion (thanks to our sly brother... saintc).  he told me that he never heard of the ice cube rub and the cortizone 10 lotion but stated that he will try it out.  he was very grateful for the advice.

so... how 'bout U?  when was the last time U gave some shaving (face or dome) advice?  today?  yesterday?  a month ago?  what's your story?

Hmmmmm... I actually gave some today. A coworker asked if I shaved my head everyday. Said yup... And he asked how I was able to do it without getting razor burn, bumps, etc. Told him about the cold water rinse AFTER, about washing his scalp BEFORE he shaved... He even asked what type of razor and shaving cream I use. And finally, told him about the awesomeness that goes on in SBG! Hopefully he'll join... Maybe he's reading THIS post! LOL!

Cheers,
Ro

This morning, while in Wal-Mart, I heard someone yell, "Hey, look at that super sly dude! You got it going on, brotha'!" The crowd just stopped in their tracks and stared...I was so embarrassed...I WAS SORRY I YELLED!   :D

LOL-All joking aside, while I was indeed shopping this morning, a female of the opposite sex (ahem...I know..I know..I said all joking aside, but I couldn't help myself) came up to me was admiring my "shine".

But once in a while, someone, who either has thinning hair, or who is making an uneducated attempt to go sly, will approach me and ask me what's "my secret".

I always include SBG Forum as part of my answer!

Two days ago. A friend asked what I shaved with and I told him...my hand. Okay, what I really told him was that I use two separate tools,  one a double edge Merkur and the other a Gillette Mach 3. Also two different kinds of shaving medium.....but he lost interest and walked away and I hadn't even told him what I tried a couple of weeks ago....Some people ask questions to which they do not really want the answer......

Funny....it seems like people are trying to give ME shaving advice...Most of the advice I've given has been on this forum....though I'm trying to get my friend with MPB to shave his head to no avail (his remaining hair is gray which doesn't help) I do value our friendship, so I'm going to leave him alone and let him make that call on his own.

I have people ask me  -almost every day - about my shiny dome  - -mostly BALD guys  - - -and how do I get it so shiny? - -

For me ,as I have said in many other posts, - - -Cold water on a wash cloth after I shave  - - - and  what you see is what I get - -A GLOSSY DOME - -

There is nothing like it and I am proud of it  - - -A BALD guy with a GLOSSY DOME looks great  - - -AND when I see another  shiny dome on a guy  - -we always talk and it is the cold water that does it.

You just be the example of a sly bald guy. maybe he'll be inspired to follow suit, knowing how good it looks on you.
