Valentines Day Present Advice
« on: February 06, 2012, 04:42:14 PM »
Hi guys... Looking for a bit of advice. Been going out with a girl for the past 9 months and completely in love with her. Question isn't so much about her but basically Im buying her a few different small presents for valentines day. One of which is flowers which im getting delivered to her house. She lives at home with her mom and sister. Her dad passed away a few years ago. I was thinking of getting a small bunch of flowers delivered for her mom with the bunch I get for my girlfriend as obviously nobody else will be buying her mom anything. Just want an opinion as to whether this would be considered thoughtful or just make me look like a massive creep!!? Any advice of opinions welcome? Thanks guys!

Are You Kidding?  Buying flowers for your girlfriend's Mom when nobody else would think of it is such a most respective thought!  This world needs more people like you !   Have you thought about taking your girlfriend and her Mom for Valentine's lunch or something ?

Not a bad idea at all, and--if your relationship with her daughter ever matures to marriage you WILL be the favorite son-in-law forever O0  Always good to have your mother-in-law's unwaivering support if your spouse becomes unreasonable at some point >:D.

To me it shows respect and support, kinda like showing that you would like to become a part of her family. I'd word the card to show appreciation of her, since it's obvious that you have a decent relationship with both. This might even show your girlfriend that you are looking toward a future with her, which gains you more brownie points if she's close to her family

Something like:

"Thank you for sharing your beautiful daughter with me."

That is a great idea. You are being very thoughtful. I am sure that will mean a lot to her mother too that she was remembered in a special way.

Have a great Valentines Day.
