Electric Routines

• Hi All,
  
  As the Zero-Buzz isnt holding up as well as it used to (too much thinning) ive been using a razor a couple times a week. I have exrtemely sensitive ski. Even though I've been buzzing/Shaving for over 10 years, I still to this day break out in bumps everyhwere, etc.
  
  So, I bought the Panasonic ES-LA63 based on what I read here. It cuts very close, almost as close as a razor. I am however finding myself running it over the same area several times. Both times I've used it it was a dry shave.
  
  Im looking for input on your electric routines, those of you that have them. Oil/Cream? Moisturizer? Etc.

• I have ben shaving with an electric razor (Conair CleanHead) for almost a year now.  Here is my routine for a bump free shave and a glossy shine.
  
  Get a botthe of Williams Lectric Shave Lotion (less than $5 at WalMart).  Full strength Lectric Shave clogs my shaver, so I dilute the Lectric Shave Lotion with rubbing alcohol (1/2 lotion & 1/2 alcohol) into a larger bottle.  
  
  Apply the Lectric Shave & alcohol misture and allow to air dry.
  
  Shave in different directions as needed to get a smooth scalp.
  
  Rinse for 30 seconds with cold water.
  
  Dry the head with a towel.
  
  Apply witch hazel (less than $2 at WalMart) and allow to air dry.
  
  Apply Fruit of the Earth 100% Aloe Vera Gel (less than $4 at WalMart).  Allow to air dry.

• If you're going to have a high end Panasonic use it for a wet shave in the shower.  Prep the same way you would for a blade shave.  I use shaving oil under a low foam gel (King of Shaves).  Shave slowly against the grain and follow behind the blades with your fingertips to check for unshaven stubble.  With time you'll learn to get it close with one pass.  After your shave follow up with a good astringent.  I use Thayer's Alcohol Free Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera.  Finish with the moisturizer of your choice.

• I use the Panasonic in the shower both with and without shaving cream. I find that using the shaving cream is easier and produces a closer shave.
  
  I also still use my Conair CleanHead every now and then as it does a fine job.
  
  I use Thayers Witch Hazel after shaving and it really seems to keep irration to a mininum. I also apply Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera or some SPF-15 or 30 sunscreen for protection and occassionally some Headlude Glossy for that sheen.

• KK; I've been using Panasonics for several years and recently upgraded to the LA63...a great tool. And you can charge it in many different countries of the world w/o worry. I shave different ways with it but the way to get the best shave is like Red posted. I wash good in the shower, rub in some Shave Secret and then put on a coating of Bald Guyz gel and begin the buzzin'. And I finish off with rubbing on some Dickinson's witch hazel  and a coat of aloe vera. Many will tell you that you should use the electric for about three weeks and you'll find you get better shaves. Best of luck!

• So I got some shave secret today, and some King of shaves gel. I cant find witch hazel or anything but walmart brand/walgreens brand/cvs brand (you get the picture) Aloe. Where do you guys find this stuff?

  I've bought aloe vera at CVS and Thayer's & Dickinson's at my "Mom 'n' Pop" grocery/health food store.

• I've seen them both at many stores...Thayer's is alcohol free and Dickenson's has 14% which I believe is the percentage that which hazel contains naturally.
