Ok, most of you know that golf is my passion and (if you haven't figured) I am also very pro-American.
Anyway, despite my patriotism, my favorite professional golfer has been Darren Clarke (No. Ireland), who recently won the 2011 British Open. My admiration of this guy goes back to getting to see him live at the 1997 Ryder Cup in Spain. He was a total class act, gentleman, awesome golfer, and great dude. He lost his wife to cancer in 2006, and has been a pillar of strength to his two sons since.
If you have a chance, I HIGHLY recommend you watch the Feherty Show on Golf Channel. David Feherty interviews Clarke in an hour long episode. Even if you're not a fan of golf, it is an awesome watch. When he discusses his "condition" after winning the British Open....friggin' priceless.

FYI: Here's a clip from Youtube of his interview the day after winning.
