If they can't be truthful about who they are how can they possibly be truthful in what they say?Your whole premise is based on the myth that we are defined by our hair color. There is nothing inherently deceitful about coloring one's hair, beard, or any other grooming technique. One could just as easily make the argument that guys who shave a full head of hair are trying to appear as something they are not, when in fact they are merely adopting a style that makes them feel more comfortable, confident, and at ease.

How does one arrive at the conclusion that it is a myth that we are defined by our hair color? In our consumer oriented society, which is based upon the importance of form over function, hair color is a standard that we have allowed to be implemented in terms of things like employment, dating, etc. Deny it all you will, it does not appear to me to be a myth.
I know why my beard is gray, just got remarried.
My thoughts are, let it grow gray and see what happens. You may start liking it.
