I've been lurking here and posting off and on for three or four months. I've been losing my hair since 19 or 20 and have been cutting my hair progressively shorter. The last 2 months I've been using the Wahl Balding Clippers with no guard and it really is the next best thing to shaving it all off.
I know you guys talk about not messing around and just shaving it to get it over with, but I think a progressive approach worked well for me. I have extremely sensitive skin and an extremely fair complexion with freckles. It's allowed my skin to become better conditioned for it. I've always had a lot of bumps and oil, but after using the Witch Hazel for a couple of months it's getting better. I use it on my face too and it's worked even better. I suspect my dome will keep getting progressively better, but there's a ways to go.
This weekend though, I decided to take final step and shave it all off. I've been stocking up on Head Blade Sport and Head Slick when it's on sale, but following some advice I read here I used the Gillette Fusion with the Head Slick and it worked well. Razors have come a long way since the 19 cent Bic's in a pack of 25 that many teenagers started with in the early 80's.
I've been using an electric for my face and I'm switching to the Fusion. I may use Edge shaving creme though when the Head Slick runs out.
Congrats on the big decision. I myself came from that same route of clipper shaving then to bald. Regret not doing it sooner. Welcome to the forums!!
WELCOME!
I did the progressive trim-down and then shave as well. Seemed to work well for me.
Now that I'm fully sly....I really know that I shouldn't have freaked out about the MPB for so long, I should have just done it.
Welcome and congrats on making the jump!
Nature gave me the progressive step to slyness, just had to do the rest myself!! I should have done it sooner!! Welcome, brother, and you look good SLY!!!
Welcome and congratulations.
