I make crab and corn soup (seasoned with jalapenos and thickened with pureed potatoes) that everyone seems to love.
It's all about the tomato soup and a grilled cheese sammich! ;-)
My favorite is from my childhood and it's still made here once or twice a year. It's a vegetable soup but not the type most are used to. The potatoes are skinned and cut in half, the carrots skinned and cut in half, and the beef put into the pot in one big piece. Tomatoes and cloves play a big part in this soup. The soup broth is served over Kluski noodles and the meat, potatoes, and carrots are served on a platter and everyone helps themselves. This is really a Polish vegetable soup.... It was a staple at GrandmaKoz's house thru my childhood.

Please provide a receipe--sounds particularly good in cold weather--something that we're suffering right now, but not in the extreme sense you guys are. Who Dat!
