Perhaps you can get away without an AC in Canada, but not in Austin. It's been over 100 for the last few days.

Love the a/c. At home, work, in the car, theater, restaurant...bring it on. It's routinely 100+ degrees here, so can't live without it. At least we can make up for it in the winter with extremely low heating bills.

And unlikely to change in the near future. It may "cool down" to 98 over the weekend.
I waited until after dark to take the dogs for their walk, and it still felt like sauna.
Gimme that good old A/C!!!

104 in Audubon Park yesterday, 1.5 miles from my house, hottest day ever in New Orleans! Streets buckling up, Interstates too. This is the pits, and it's only June, I can't think what August will be like

. The a/c in our office building was challenged yesterday, it was getting hot. But cooler temps were on the report this morning, it's going to drop to 93 or 94. Can't wait. At least it was only 85 when I got in my car to go to the gym at 4:30a this morning. I'm using spf 70, that my wife and daughter, red heads--no tan skin--use. Great shine though

This is crazy for us as well. It normally doesnt get this hot until middle of July and August. Swimming pools in the area have been reporting between 90-92 degree water. Give me a washcloth and soap ....it would be like taking a bath.

Obviously, you are not from the American Deep South .... It has been said, "Railroads opened the West; air conditioners opened the South."
ANOTHER vote 4 air conditioning...

We live in the Pacific Northwest, and we don't need the AC often, but I like it for those hot days. Went without it last summer, and we survived, but it's much nicer with that little box in the window.

I live in the northern Great Plains. Last week was winter, this week it's in the 90's, next week is winter.
Our summers are hot but short - I'll enjoy it while it lasts!

B-Bear, that forecast was actually cooler than what actually happened this week!!
I went jogging today in the afternoon (my only chance to) and I felt like one of those worms you see that got fried to the sidewalk.
