Since I have gotten back home I have not gone out mostly because it is hard for me to get around and I seem to get tired quicker now. I'm a member of a band that plays on the weekends in a bar here in town. I play mainly piano and keyboard and do most of the lead vocals. I was glad to hear how much my band had missed me while I was gone and they have been a great help to me since I've gotten back. They all seemed to think that me not getting out has made me somewhat depressed. So they started coming over to the house and just jaming with me. They worked on me all week and want me to go out tonight and play with them. I was unsure of wether or not it would be good or bad for me but I do miss playing. The other problem of course was getting all my gear over there.
Well the guys just left my house after picking up all my gear. The guitar players wife will be coming by latter to pick me up so I don't have to drive anywere. So tonight I'm going to try it and see how it goes. I set down some guidlines for the guys and told them that if I felt bad or tired to not push it and just let me leave early. They all promised to do so. I also told them that I will not be drinking because I don't think that scotch and pain meds go well together (well actually they do but not if you are trying to sing and play while on them
) so not to buy me any drinks. So I don't know it might be a mistake to go out and play but I am so bored and tired of being cooped up all the time. I am able to get around more these days but still it is a struggle. The good thing about playing is that I will be sitting down all the time so that will help some. I guess I will just have to give it a try and see how it all goes. Will let ya'll know tomorrow how things turn out.
We're all with you brother!! I went through the same thing the last time I had back surgery. It was just to much work to go out! But I was blessed with a therapist (once I finallly got one) that worked with me about getting out of the house etc.!
It took a lot of effort for me to get out for quite awhile but once I started doing more, more become possible!
Trusting you have a great time and will be waiting for the good report.
