Well I see that we ( the US) has had its first reported swine flu death. An infant from Texas died this morning. We also were informed that a student at Notre Dame has the infection. There are possibly about 30 other cases going to be confirmed this morning in Indiana.
I guess with all the "funny" music videos, songs, comic skits and the like will soon come to a halt. I guess it was all fun and games when it wasnt our country that was infected with. Now the tables have turned, its in Our back yards now. I didnt find the songs or comic skits funny at all.
Wake up people, get your heads out of your arses!

Timmmay, you're always the bearer of such good news.
Did you say Indiana? I thought this was local only to NYC, and restricted to a Catholic school, St. Francis Prep. Now you're saying it's infected the midwest.
Holy frijoles!

yes it has started to spread. The CDC is suppose to be releasing a report within the next 2 hours. The out look doesnt look good. I think the biggest scare and concern is that people need to realize that if they arent feeling good, do not just put it off as the typical flu. Stay home and get medical assistance.

Yes, this is not good. Let's remember all the people affected and especially those who have died irrespective of where they come from. And remember guys, hand hygiene can really help here. Wash your hands regularly and use anti bacterial gel. You can get pocket sized ones now. This bacteria can live on hard surfaces for up tom 24 hours outwith the human body. DID YOU WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER TOUCHING THAT TOILET DOOR HANDLE/HANDLING MONEY ETC.
AS TIMM SAYS, GET YOUR HEADS OUT YOUR ASSES AND PLAY IT SAFE

In history class I remember hearing something about one of the past presidents making everyone get a swine flu vaccination, it cost millions of dollars but nothing happened. Now that people had probably forgot about it it comes roaring back.
Which leads me to another thing. I like exotic critters and all and many of them are banned. It is long so I will just make another topic about why pigs should be banned.

Oh but something did happen....... In 1976, 40 million Americans were vaccinated with the new Swine Flu vaccine. Approximately 1 in every 100,000 developed Guillame-Barre syndrome. A very serious affliction.

Wow I didnt know that. I meant that swine flu didnt even hit the US, well I am pretty sure. The bad thing about the swine flu is that it mutates so fast so when they get a vaccine for it then the flu might have already changed.

Thousands of people die every single year from the flu that we all know and love. If you really want an education about what the Flu (influenza) can do just check out the Flu epedemic of 1919.

A friend of mine who has a background in science told me something that I found really alarming. I also checked this out with someone in the medical field. This new flu has components of swine, avian, and human flu combined which is what makes the virus "hostable" in the human body. In nature, components of differing species do not mix well. It is the reason that if a man has a pet pig that he really, REALLY, loves that, no matter what, they cannot procreate. The opinion, then, in some circles is that this new flu might be what is referred to as (wait for it!).........
BIO-TERRORISM.
I, for one, would really like to not believe this but the science behind the theory is apparently sound.

I have a feeling this is going to be more wide spread by this coming weekend. You wait and see, everyone and everything will be shutting down to keep from spreading....
The US come to another "hault". Can we handle such a thing at this point in time? I dont think so, it is going to be a major blow to everything.

But they CDC wants 400 million dollars from the stimulus package to create a vaccine for it now??
Americans do need to get their head out their arse as Timmayy put it and control this government thats pissing away our money.... EARMARKS FOR SWINE!
Also, there is a SC school shutdown that had students return from Mexico, it was on the local news last night.

While I do take this threat seriously and make sure to step up the hygiene, I do think the media might be blowing this out of proportion a bit.

THANK YOU!!!!

my wife and her mom are worried about this whole thing, but i keep telling them to be smart and wash your hands, keep your hands out of your mouth etc etc and you should be fine. It seems like a lot of the victims that died from this disease were not in a pinnacle of health anyways (i.e. the 22 month-old baby that passed away in the US from the swine flu.) The regular influenza virus could have killed the baby too.
i think this is just getting blown waaay out of proportion. and it could not be at a worse time.
