i know i know. like i said..........i forget that they dont examine hairlines like i do lol. but anyways this topic got turned around QUICK lol. it was an innocent topic on whether medication effects hairloss lol. ill leave it at that. well see if my hair regrows thicker or not.
You don't know how comforting it is to find another guy into sly-ness with the same ailment that I have. I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis almost 8 years ago. Was 16 at the time. I've been on Medrol (almost the same as prednisone) Asacol, and Imuran (immune suppressant drug commonly given to organ transplant patients) ever since. I haven't endured any hairloss that seems abnormal. Slight recession at the temples, but that can easily be chalked up to genetics. Hit me up sometime for some UC conversation lol.

I have not personally used prednisone, however my cousin was prescribed this drug for her knee problems. Prolonged use has caused her teeth to break off at the gum line. She was in her late 50's and never had dental problems in her life. Today she is sporting false teeth. This is some bad s---t!!!!
Wow, interesting thread -- I was diagnosed with Chronic Inflammatory Demylenating Polyneuropathy (a mouthful) about seven years ago and put on Prednisone. Was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis last year and was put on Asacol. Still on Asacol, only take Prednisone when the CIDP flares up. My hair was thinning pre-medication, so I didn't notice any difference. And the couple of times I've let my hair grow back in, it doesn't seem any thinner than I remember it being.
Prednisone is a bear. Big weight gain, mood swings, etc. It does wonders, but the side effects are horrible.

That does not sound pleasant!
i have taken oral prednisone, as well as the shot of corticosterioids multiple times since i was about 17-18. it may be coincidence, but that's also when my hair started thinning really bad. corticosteroids work wonders, but they also have bad side effects!!
