I have almost always wore Levi's, about the only ones that really fit comfortably.

That's funny....I always thought Levi's were uncomfortable and didn't fit well. I always found Wranglers to be a better fit and more comfortable.... O0

Yup. Got a few pairs of Dickies pants and a couple of patterned shirts.

What I don't have is any pairs of Dickies-branded boots. Guess I should fix that!

Did a double take when I saw this thread. What a strange name for a clothing brand. "on the dickie" means having sex here.

It's funny how some of the brands are positioned internationally.  I read somewhere that a European came to the US and was suprised that Carhartt is mainly worn by the rough work types.  He said in EU it's a high style fashion brand, as it is with Wrangler.

I've never worn Dickies.  I wear Wrangler jeans when working around the house.  Maybe other times when I am in a redneck mood.

Carhartt is pretty fasionable over here, its not cheap that for sure, but then nothing is in the UK!

Dickies is pretty cool, but not really as big over here as it seems to be in the US, definatly limited to workers and skaters funnily enough!

Ditto in Germany.

I prefer my good old Levis 501.

Had to laugh when I read this. Here in South Carolina our state dance is called the "shag". I understand that word has a rather different meaning in England. Yes we actually do have "shagging" contests and an annual shag convention here.

For my brothers "across the pond" click this link to youtube. It was a video by the country group ALABAMA. The Shag dance was started many years ago here in my city of Myrtle Beach. Incidentally this video was filmed here to.

:( i guess its depends on who u are around here as to what u wear. a lot of outdoor workers and construction types wear carhart. u can tell these apart from your neighborhood thug or dope dealer because they are worked in ,ripped ,and generally dirty. now if they are pressed, smell good ,still have tags hanging from them and are matched to a pair of spotless timberline boots then i wouldn't ask them for directions. lol

now dickies are almost the same but legitamite wearers are out numbering them because of their durability and fit. in the towing business all the drivers are wearing dickies because the knee don't wear out as fast. in the winter here most people that work outside wear either carhart or walls insulated coveralls.

I also like Carharts, especially for hunting.  But, I wear Dickies in my everyday casual attire.
People are not limited by the circumstance that they are born in. They are limited by the size of their dreams. Show them that their dreams can have no limits and in turn their accomplishments can be limitless.

Hey Hammer, thanks for the recall in memory.  I just happen to be on vacation in MB when they were doing the video for that song.  We were at Peache's Corner as they were filming the street. Then we ran into them at the Bowery.  Is the Bowery still there?

I know this thread has been hijacked....but...oh well lol

Yes it is still there. Don't know if you know it but the Pavilion area is totally gone. City of Myrtle Beach stripped it out a couple of years ago.
