Definitely, also the classic SciFi stuff of the 50's and 60's.
Some good ones: Original Invasion of Bodysnatchers. After watching it, my brother put a football behind my back while I slept. Still haven't forgiven him
Orginal Invaders From Mars, you'll never visit a sand dune again.
Agree on original Elm Street, man freaked me out first time.

In the original Invaders From Mars whenever the sand pit opened up they played that really creepy music that sounded like a chorus or choir. I always loved that. I often wondered if that was the martians making that sound or just the music effects.

Freezing cold day here again, will have to watch it this afternoon and check that out. Thought it was the Martians.

I just rented Slither and thought it was ok. Also, The Descent was pretty good. I want to see Hannibal, the book was great and the movie is getting good reviews.

My wife and I both thought the Descent was good as well.

I love Horror, but only 2 movies have scared me.
The original Exorcist and... Jaws
both were the only movies that gave me nightmares...

anything else I just like the gore!!!

I watched Sci-Fi type of horror flick this weekend called "Altered". The wife wasn't a big fan but I thought it was pretty good.

I watched the original Exorist a couple weeks back....my wife's like, "why in hell are you watching that?"
I said, "ssssssshhhhhhhhhh" while waving my hand at her from the side without missing any of the action.
Isn't it funny how they can't/don't wait for the freaking COMMERCIAL to ask questions

Maybe not in the true genre of "horror" but check out The Changling. Unlikely star of George C. Scott, but good scare film minus the blood and guts, like the old Hitchcock type.

Yeah, Paul...that reminds me......I'm typically not into slash, chop, blood & guts horror flicks.
The original "Hitcher" would be an exception. But it was the creepy (and excellent) acting of Rutger Haur that made that film.
Other than that I'm more into paranormal creepy flicks. The sixth sense had that creepy appeal....especially the scene when the (dead) little girl appears in the kid's tent fort and pukes....that's C-R-E-E-P-Y.

I LOVE the sixth sense...!!
I think films with kids in are more disturbing than most, I dunno whether that's because I'm a parent or what.
I also liked that other movie by the director of the sixth sense, Signs.
There's a few scenes in that that make me jump out of my skin.

MagmaBabe, glad you reminded me of that. Sixth Sense was awesome, expecially like those visual scenes where the dead walk through the background. I tape Hauntings on Thurs nights, has same effects but based on real stories.

Ah Robmeister, you're a man of taste. Course the show goes better with a cold BUD!
