You shouldn't be trying for a speed record. That's not the point. I do my prep and then shave my face and dome with and against making sure to get all the spots and then my post shave stuff and it always takes 20 to 25 minutes when you factor in everytrhing.

No, it isn't about speed.  But 50 minutes is a long time, don't you think?  I don't have that kind of time to spend shaving my head every morning.  For that matter, I can't afford to spend 20 to 25 minutes, either.

I only shave once - against the grain in the shower.  I have good results.  It takes about 10 minutes.
HeadSlick and a Fusion.

I know we're all different and have different needs.  I can't imagine taking 50 minutes.  WOW

Good question.   I have been shaving since the end of August.   If I shave only with the grain then
it takes me about 50 minutes.   If I want to shave with and against the grain it takes 75 to 100 minutes.
I don't know why it takes so long lol.   Most of the time I am happy shaving because I like the results at the end.
I do have to admit though that I get angry when I see that after 40 minutes of shaving I have missed so many spots and have to keep going for another half an hour.
Let's hope I get better at it because I may run out of patience in the end. :D

it takes you an hour to shave your head!?!?! OMG! lol. i thought i took an incredibly long time shaving when i spend 15-20 minutes on my head. i go over my head with a razor 4-5 times though cuz im a perfectionist and if its not completely smooth im not satisfied.

theres no reason it should take you so long.

I can lather up and shave my dome in 5 minutes.  Most of the time I don't consider it a chore, but there are occasional days when I'm feeling lazy and don't want to do it.  But lazy or not, I can't go out in public with stubble on the dome.

5-10 minutes the most. I don't consider it a chore.

i dont mind doing it at all unless im lazy. it feels good to shave in my opinion and i dont even really think its all that boring. the only time it is REALLY uncomfortable for me is when i try to shave the very next day.i  dont have enough hair grown at that point to shave yet so i basically just scrape and scratch my head. i also miss A LOT of spots and get bad razor burn.

so i usually shave every other day so i can get a nice clean shave.

I think it can be hit and miss sometimes.  I do enjoy west shaving my face  more I think. Still with using a gel/blade though, seeing a smooth egg on your head should always perk up your mood.   ;)

I love the end result.  But I will confess that I am just lazy sometimes and would rather not have to shave everyday.  But it has become a habit that will probably not change.

It's a chore if I let it go a week and I gotta buzz it down, clean all that up and then shave it.

It's a lot easier (read: enjoyable) if I can just lather up and shave, get it done in 15 minutes. I'm not a speed shaver, makes my skin irritated.

I like taking long hot showers, particularly in the winter.  Shaving in the shower gives me a good excuse for staying in there so long.

My wife called me this morning to complain that I used all the hot water.  Oops.  lol

Like mike said, it's a chance for a bit of self-pampering, and i quite enjoy it: quite artistic to smooth down the stubble!  Prep and shave take about 5 - 10 mins, or for a really detailed shave (going over it twice or more) about 15 mins.  I always shave against the grain.  Don't really see the point in shaving with the grain, as it leaves too much stubble. 8)

In the beginning we may find it a chore.   I actually look forward to shaving my dome daily as well as my face.  It gets me started on the right foot towards to the day.  I think once you find your routine, favorite razor, shaving cream soap, etc, you will not think of it as a chore.  My only problem is my wife complains I take too long in the bathroom

I use the Panasonic Vortex. In the shower with a full routine (pre-soak, exfoil, shaving cream, shave the dome, astringent, lotion)  it takes about 15 minutes.
Most of the time these days I just dry shave it and apply shave lotion afterwards, takes around 5 minutes.
Remember to never take my advice seriously (unless I'm being serious) and you'll do alright.
