How good is the headblade?

How good is the headblade compared to a regular razor.
Compare the following things:
- Time it takes to shave
- # of cuts
- # of uses per blade
- Easiness
- Other comments

Personally, I think it's significantly faster, easier, and more effective.
The only downside to it is that it's not the best around the ears. For that, I touch up with my Schick Extreme3.
Good luck.

I've had bad luck with the Headblade. Every once and awhile I will try and go back, but I end up cutting myself. Seems like most guys like it, but I stick with the Mach3. Like some have said, it takes a little practice to master the HB.

HB isn't bad once you get the hang of it. Now the question is, "How long will it take you to get the hang of it?"
It took me quite a while. I had a love/hate relationship with it. Still do. It is one of the fastest ways to shave and, as far as I'm concerned, gives the least irritating shave.
You just have to make sure you take your time and I would not try shaving around the ears on my first go with it.

- Time it takes to shave -
never really timed it,but quite fast
- # of cuts -
apart from catching a mole on the back of my head never
- # of uses per blade -
usually change the balde every week
- Easiness -
once you change your habits of a normal razor - easy

Much easier to shave back of head to me. I still use my Shick Quattro for around my ears.

I found it was very easy to get used to from Day 1 - only had one nick in 2 months of use. What the others said is correct - it doesn't work well around the ears. And even though the directions suggest it's possible to reverse the blade and use it on your face, that didn't work well for me at all. My routine is the Mach 3 on the face and around the ears, and headblade does the rest - 5 minutes or less.

On a personal note I was abit miffed that I had to touch up with another razor when I did use the HB. Also minor point, I don't like yellow but still it's a good piece of kit, unique to a sly way of life.
Regardles of who u are, it's relativley easy to learn therefore quick and importantly the choice of cartridges helps greatly.

I find that after getting used to the HB i tend to get fewer cuts and a closer shave, but then again, I haven't cut myself in a few months. Maybe I am getting the hang of it.

I find that using the HB is a breeze around the ears. When I first started using the HB i did have to use another razor around the ears. Once you get the hang of it..its a breeze. How I get around the ears , for the right ear, the HB is on your right hand and you place your palm somewhat below your ear and sorta on your upper jaw line. Almost like "cupping" your ear. You will then pivot your palm. I do it one continuous motion. Next time we have a convention and we are all together, you can all jump in the shower with me and I will show ya LOL.
I will see if I can get a video of me doing that and post it up on here.

I love the HB.... I don't cut myself often but when I do it's usually nasty. Usually I cut myself if I'm rushing and get careless.

I just got the "no pressure" feel down, so I'm back to using my Headblade.
You just let it sit on your head and you move it, applying any pressure will cause razor burn and nicks.

I agree with the Schroman. If you give yourself some time with it and just let it glide, no pressure on blade, you will get the hang of it in no time. I have used it since I started, and I have no problem, no cuts.
Take the time to get used to it, and you will get it down.
