If you have a hair trimmer that's the best way to take it down to shavable length... I started with a number 2 and then to no guard at all.

Once it's down to stubble use your razor of choice to shave it off, you'll be done in no time!

Read some threads here on shaving techniques, prep is the most important thing.

Buzz it all off with a zero..straight up.....

moisterize for a while (1/2 hr maybe, if you can)...lather up with gel...and shave it smooth with a fresh blade!

If you're not sure of yourself, go to a barber and ask if he can shave your head smooth for you..or at least buz zit bald for ya and you finish it to skin....

You'll dig the whole bald head thing! O0

Good luck!

Friday night is the perfect time to go bald.  Gives you the whole weekend to get used to it before you head back out to face the world.   As everyone else has said, buzz it as close as you possibly can, then get your scalp good and wet.  Then apply a good quality shaving gel and use a good quality razor and scrape that noggin clean.  Don't think about it too much -- just do it. You already know you want to or you wouldn't be here.  You won't be able to get the idea out of your head until you've done it, so just get it over with as soon as you can.

In the words of a former president, JUST DO IT.
"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat." - Theodore Roosevelt

I would buzz it down as close as possible.  Take a long warm shower, softening up those hairs, then cover the head in foam or gel and shave it down!

If you think you're skin might be sensitive go with the grain the first time.  Then thereafter against the grain for a closer shave.  For the nitty gritty details see the parts of the forum dedicated to shaving and headcare.

Post a pic after you're done and show us that clean dome!

When I first shaved, I buzzed it as close as I could and then used an electric to finish the job.  It's not as close, but I wasn't sure I would be able to shave my head with a blade without requiring medical attention.  lol

After a few days, though, I decided to try the blade in the shower (my usual face-shaving routine) and it's really not as hard as I thought.

I would also recommend some witch hazel or similar afterwards.  It helps with any irritation you might have.
