Ron Howard Shaves For Retro Ad

If anyone should go SLY it should be Ron Howard and when I read that he shaved for some sort of ad, I thought he finally took the plunge and headshaved. Unfortunately the only thing Howard shaved off was his beard. In this retro "political" ad he dons some bad hair and make up to become Opie Taylor and Richie Cunningham.

Your thoughts?

He definately would look better sly and too bad he didn't take it off....but without getting into politics I thought the video was pretty cool. I still watch reruns of both shows and have probably seen about everyone....It's sad Don Knotts is still not living as I thought he was one of the best comedy actors ever.....

Yep..I don't agree with his political point of view but man those old Andy Griffith shows are still hilarious to watch. I will say he is a gifted and talented director

He needs to at least buzz the sides down. Why don't people realize that all that bulky hair on the sides emphasizes the lack of hair on top and makes th whole head seem egg-shaped?

Actually ; I'm not sure how good he'd look sly. He sure looks younger with a full head of hair. Clever video; but probably not necessary to make. Look at the polls ! ! !

LOL...I think that's exactly why they grow it bulky on the sides because of the lack of it on top. Somehow it makes them feel like they have more hair....I can think of no other reason ...

I agree John.Ronny Howard would not look good sly because he is very fair skinned.Even if he got a tan it would probably be pink. Also his features are not sharp enough to pull off the look. They are somewhat bland.I thought he looked good with the full head of hair.He almost looks like he did when he played in Happy Days.Baldness just makes his features look like they're sinking into his head.

I'm of the view that he can have his hair however he wants. Some people look alright with the "horse shoe" pattern look. I think Larry David pulls it off alright.

But I will add that the sly look is for me.

I was taken back by some of the comments made to my posting this Ron Howard stuff. Especially the comments that say that pale balding gents can't pull off a completely bald head. Could it be that we are way to familiar with the young Howard?

Lighten up Stu. Bet you weren't a happy camper Election Eve.

He sure looks younger with a full head of hair. Clever video; but probably not necessary to make. Look at the polls ! ! !

I believe John and Don's anti-sly comments are forum firsts.
To sum it up, they said is that for some guys "some hair" is better than none and that SLY is not for everyone. So what do you think?

Y'all have to realize that Ron spends most of his time, especially on the set, wearing baseball caps, so you don't even notice the top.
