« on: September 12, 2008, 09:19:01 PM »
hello fellow chrome domes:  what were your favorite board games as a child?  i'll start:  my favorites were monopoly & chess.  i miss playing chess.  i haven't played in years (haven't met anyone that plays it).  my brother & i use 2 play a lot when we were kids.

so... how 'bout U?  what were your favorites?  what's your story?

As a young child: Hi Ho Cherry-O
Later: Monopoly

Chutes and ladders
and Which Witch is Which
When I was very young.

Kiss the game (when I was around 10 years old or so

Older still
The game of Life
Stratego were a couple favs.

I've often thought about hitting eBay and stating up a classic board game collection.
Unfortunately I already collect too much.
Maybe if I ever get a house with a warehouse attached I can go for it.
Remember to never take my advice seriously (unless I'm being serious) and you'll do alright.

This ain't a board game...but does anyone remember the NFL game where you set up all the players ('bout an inch high on little platforms) and then flipped on the vibrating playing field to watch the players move about?

Oh yeah Rob, that brings me back.

Wasn't there always one who would always go round and round in a circle?, lol.
And another would just run and then fall over. It never worked the way it was supposed to.   ;D

Monopoly
Our country demands all our strength, all our energies. To resist the powerful combination now forming against us will require every man at his place. If victorious we will have everything to hope for in the future. If defeated, nothing will be left for us to live for.

We would spend most of our time looking for the magnetic footballs.  The kicker would send those suckers anywhere, except on the field.  :(
