At the advice of buuckkweet I'm officially introducing myself. A little about myself.
--Just turned 37.
--Have been married for 13 years to my beautiful wife Cheryl
--Have a 4 year old daughter Faith
I have been cutting my hair for years with the trimmers and no gaurd. I have always told my wife when my little bald spot in the back gets bad enough that I was going to shave it all off. This was an exciting idea to myself but the wife wanted nothing to do with it "You'll look like a cancer patient" she would always say. I went to Haiti in July and a buddy and me made a pact to shave it all off before we left (who would really care what it looked like when we were out of the country). Long story short I shaved and he bailed out. I love the sly look and my wife does not think that I look like a cancer patient, so bonus to me. I want the personally thank you all in the sly nation for the pointers you have giving as far as step by step instuctions go. I gathered alot of intel. and the steps I went for are as follows.
1. Hot shower and rub with Equate Apricot scrub.
2. Lather up with Headblade Slick at the sink while running hot water over my Headblade.
3. Shave with the Headblade, with grain, against grain, then find stragglers and shave them as well.
4. Rinse clean dome with Ice water (I have found this to be the most important step for myself)
5. Rinse with Witch Hazel.
With these steps I have not cut myself once or had irritation (both of these were a worry for me when I thought of going clean). Thanks again, you guys are awesome and the advice you give is priceless.

I can relate to the bald spot on the back of the head as mine is huge....and like you.....my wife didn't want to hear about me shaving the head.....well....one day I just went ahead and did it and she ended up liking it and besides that she doesn't have to buzz my head for me anymore.....so.....we are now both happy !!

Don't feel bad Bro, Many of the Sly Bros have that bald spot on the back of their noggins. I refer to that ever increasing spot as "Home Plate". All the more reason to keep your Dome shaved and shiney!
