Hi, I'm new here. I'm 26 and I shave my head with clippers (no guard) because I'm not quite ready to shave it completely. I absolutely have no confidence in myself because I think I look terrible without hair. I wear hats almost everywhere and it gives me false confidence, every time I talk to women I feel like I am fooling them into thinking I have hair underneath my cap. I used to get very good looking girls but between my confidence and lack of hair I can't help but think I have to settle for women I'm not attracted to. I am not superficial, I know looks aren't everything but in the dating process looks play a important part of the initial attraction.

Dude: Welcome ... And if women only want to date you for your hair, and not the whole deal, they they are the ones settling.

Good to have you here AntSox.
If you feel like you're in a rut, go for the razor shave. You're showing the ladies you ARE confident and you're owning the look you're going for.
Good luck, have fun.

Welcome AntSox.
That sucks that you feel that way.
Me personally I like the sly look and don't feel inferior to anyone.
I dont think hair gives a guy confidence.
I know guys with full thick heads of hair that are in their 30's and still virgins or haven't dated in years. What do suppose their excuse is?
Do yourself a favor.
Stop making excuses.
Based on your profile pic, you look fine sly. If I was a girl and good looking, I'd want to lick your dome.

You look fine to me. When you grow your confidence INSIDE, the outside becomes less important.
As you will read on here over and over again.....being SLY is about the attitude. It's a process and for some people it is more painful than for others. We're here for you.
Let us know what we can do to help and I assure you that we are all willing to help.
Welcome aboard. glad you're here

First off, you look fine. You are bringing more attention to your head when you are wearing a hat indoors (and I'm sure a lot of women are thinking, is this guy losing his hair?). From that avatar, are you losing your hair? Perhaps you are bald in the back? It doesn't matter anyways, women are attracted to confidence and attitude!! Being sly is about those 2 things, you really think women just liked you because of your hair? Get real bro, they liked you because you were confident and you liked yourself.
Going from no guard to shave is surprisingly a big difference. You will look different, so I see why you are scared about making the change. Plus, you got to worry about reactions from people you know... but in the end, you eventually learn that there is more to life then hair and that you are more important then whats on your head.
You won't be successful with women, until you learn to love yourself. The first step is to hold your head up high, take the hat off, and don't even worry about your hair or being bald. Its not as big of a deal as you are making it to be. IT'S JUST HAIR MAN!
I'm 22 btw!

Information Technology

But I have a feeling that's not the IT he's referring to.
Shave it smooth, what have you got to lose but a few days worth of growth?
I find myself 100x more confident now than I was with a receding hairline because to me, I took control and made the CHOICE to look this way instead of hiding it or letting it take it's slow agonizing course.

I did the no guard cut for years before I finally took the plunge. After I shaved for the first time I looked in the mirror and wondered why I had not done it before. I was worried about what people at work would say but it took awhile before some even relized I had shaved it, or hadn't ever shaved it before. Every comment that I did receive was positive. If you have a long weekend coming up give it a try. If you don't like it, it will grow back before you have to return to work.
