Wow, I sure wish we had a little more of that mantality around today. Everyone seems so gimmie gimmie and lookin out for number 1...
What about Lenny Bruce, George Carlin, Chris Rock, etc.
They are not funny all the time. Sometimes its the "observation" that is the humor... or the harsh reality. I guess these comedians are part time philosophers.
I just thought comedian's were supposed to be funny all the time? I've never seen a serious comedian on stage...
Dog did you even understand the content of what he was talking about?
Man he was awesome. Red was one of my childhood icons! TV has really gone to the dogs

I got bored 30 seconds into the video

Thus betraying your depth and profound patriotism.

And therein lies the problem. I don't blame you totally Dog because you're younger, and unfortunately, a product of the 'generally' hate American public school system. Pride of country, real teaching of our country's history, and respect for figures of authority and traditional institutions is not taught much anymore... easier to destroy a country from within when you don't teach about the greatness that got us here. I'm not trying to stir up the pot because there are always bad examples of traditional things taken to the extreme. It's just my opinion in my little corner of the good old USA.
Oh, I also have to see it's a lot harder being a funny and original comedian when you remove all of the swearing and blatant sexual comments that many use these days. And no, I'm not a prude. The last time I nearly died laughing was watching a 'Larry the Cable Guy' video... I laughed so hard I was crying and couldn't breath. And he is definitely not a 'G' rated comedian that I would let my kids watch.
Red skelton was a TRUE comedian, actor, humanitarian. artist, and American...He was a simple man with simple solutions to hard problems. "Treat everone you meet with the same respect", and "The only time you should look down upon someone is when your helping them to their feet"
If everyone live be these "CODES" wouldn't this be a great world to live in?
